When was the last time you watched STAR WARS?

It's good to know there is still a strong star wars fanbase in this community even if it isn't the most prominant on the forum anymore.

Also interesting how much negativity there is towards the SW.

I'm going to add a question to my original post so refer back to that!

As a matter of fact I watched ANH last night and ESB on Tuesday. I generally watch the OT films once a month, or one of them is at least playing in the background while I'm working.

BTW very cute pics JediFyfe, frame worthy for sure.

Thanks guys! Later that night my daughter wanted to play Star Wars. So we re-enacted the "set for stun" Princess Leia scene. Isabella loved falling to the floor pretending to be stunned.

Cutest thing ever.

What I wouldn't give to watch Star Wars again for the first time.

Oh, that's one of the MAJOR things I look forward to having kids for; seeing their reactions to the movies for the first time. :D

For the longest time, anytime my nephew heard the Fox fanfare before a movie, he would come RUNNING from wherever he was in the house, shouting "Star Wars, daddy, Star Wars!!!"

I love the first movie so much, I would buy action figures from its deleted scenes before I would the principles from any of the other movies:

I had kind of gone off the films after the Prequels but last year watched all the originals again with my son. I'm in love again. My youngest is slated to watch them next year. :)

I watch "The Clone Wars" with my boys every Friday. I usually view ESB or Star Wars every few months. I am looking forward to the Blu-Rays and the bonus materials. I would love to see some of the old "Making Of" shows.

I usually watch them when they are on tv. I can't turn off ANH or ESB. I just have to watch them when they are on. Usually watch Jedi and the prequels if there's absolutely nothing else is on.

Just watched 'Empire' last night but fell asleep....I only have time to watch movies late at night. The OCD in me wants to start from the beginning, but I always fall asleep at the same time (right around the end of the Hoth battle) so maybe I will just start from the next chapter and see if I can make it.

It's been a couple of years since I have watched any of them. I used to be obsesssed with star wars. I collected the toys, the props, did the costumes, read the books, etc. etc. etc. I even like the new triligy more then most. Then after Episode 3 it all got so darn dark. every one was talking about how much they loved seeing the good guys die. How much they loved seeing dead kids. etc. I really started to hat most things star wars. I still love some of the costumes, and some of the props (ok a lot of them :lol) but the movies themselves just don't grab me much any more. (I never though I would say something like that, but I've been saying it for a few years now. :()

I guess I just grew up a lot, and they just didn't fit me any more.

I mean, even when I watch the old films the don't thrill me much.

The real truth is, there are no good guys, or bad guys in war. Each side does what they think is right. Each side tells their people, their friends, and family, that they are fighting for what is right. For what they believe in. We just put labels like good guys, and back guys on them, to make it feel better when we kill people, because, we can't see eye to eye, and they threaten our way of life. All like maters, and everyone has a right to live. So, now when I watch films like star wars, I think "those stormtroopers cant hit the broad side of a barn, so does han really have to kill them some carelessly, I mean, those folks might have families back home" "Their all just people trying to get by". "luke has the power to take a weapon out of someone's hand, or plant the thought to put the weapon down, so does he really need to kill so many foes? " So much for taking the higher ground"

Plus I found other much better movies, and TV shows. Since I got hooked on Firefly, there was no going back to star wars. For me, Firefly will always be 10 times better then star wars in every way. Story. characters, acting. writing. Look, hummer, timing, props (except for the lack of lightsabers.) etc. it's just miles better.

My love affair with star wars is something I look back on with equal parts "Aw those were the days" and "Ew, what was I thinking". (like mullets. :lol)

I watched ESB a week ago with my new ESB Vintage Graflex lightsaber! :D Today I watched The Building an Empire documentary on youtube.

Yup, I still do it too. Don't think I will ever not think of Star Wars when I hear that.

A friend and I just finished watching ROTS. The hi-def versions kicked up a renewed interest with us :):thumbsup
