When was the last time you watched STAR WARS?

When I joined here over a decade ago 99% of all topics were Star Wars this or Star Wars that. If you weren't talking about blasters or lightsabers you were weird, and Episode I was new enough to still be interesting (prop-wise) not just some weird movie from last millennium with terrible acting.

So my question to you is... when was the last time you watched ANY of the six Star Wars films? Which movie was it? What was the occasion? Any thoughts after watching it again? Additionally how often do you watch any of the Star Wars movies?

For me? I watched Episode III in the first half of 2009. I decided before the movie even hit theaters I wasn't going to watch it obsessively like I watched the others. I wanted to preserve one of the movies so that on the rare occasion I did watch it there would be something still unfamiliar about it. For that reason I really enjoy watching it. I can't quote every line to you like I can the others, I can't tell you exactly what happens next, and I can't point out the glaring plot holes that I'm sure would be obvious after repeated viewing. I typically watch the movies about once or twice a year but it's been significantly longer than that this time around. I have a real itch to watch them all now but I'm going to try and hold off for the bluray release later this year.

I just thought it would be interesting to somewhat quantitatively see how much this place has changed and would be an interesting point of discussion.

EDIT- In addition to answering the above questions I'd also be interested to see you list the movies in order of your preference from best to worst. Here's mine:

1. ESB
2. ANH
3. ROTS
4. ROTJ
5. AOTC
6. TPM

ROTJ is great and all but I never was crazy about Endor/Ewoks. Only reason ROTS is above it is because of the fact I mentioned above about me seeing it the least.

It's been over a decade since i sat through an entire movie. I'm sick of everything related to the franchise and how it hsa been driven to the ground. I caught the end of Ep 3 on tv and that was enough for me.

My son and I watched bits and pieces of Ep1 the other day. He's only 3 so his attention span isn't much for the slower parts, but he dug the podrace A LOT. He also sat through the entire assault on the first death star. Brings a tear to my eye :)

I don't get quite as into Star Wars as a lot of people here so I haven't really burned out on it totally. A few friends and I were at another friend's recording studio last Thursday working on something and one of them had brought my OT box set that he borrowed so we put ANH on in the lounge till it played 2-3 times in a row, and when I noticed it was over for the third time I switched to ESB and let that play a few times. We never got around to ROTJ. Then once I got the set home I had special features and then the first two movies on with commentary while working on an Aliens poster b/c I had just watched that whole set all over again in the few days before I got my SW set back.

So...yeah.....not NUTS about SW, but I'll still spend hours upon hours immersed in it up to and including now. Just typing that out made me realize I actually hadn't put ROTJ commentary on during this go-round so I'll probably do that tonight.

EDIT: As for how often I watch them, it's pretty frequent. I use DVD special features as background noise whenever I'm working on a project so I cycle through my collection kinda often. It does get distracting on occasion but it's also insanely useful because, for example, the Aliens poster I'm doing now was served really well by having the quadrilogy set on so every time I looked up, I had a random new bit of reference material for something in the poster that I could store away in my mind for whenever I get to the appropriate parts.

Ranking the movies in order of preference, I'd go with:
ESB
ROTS
ANH
ROTJ
AOTC
TPM

My buddy brought his three year old over the other day and we asked him if he wanted to watch "Star Wars or the one with the snow" not even giving him the option of Jedi.
His response.."The one with the rancor in it."

So I watched Jedi the other day for the first time in years. But it was the non SE version. Had to put my foot down on that.

I cant remember.

I'm not a fan of the prequels hardly at all. I was excited when they first started coming out, but as they came out, I got more and more depressed lol

I tried watching Clone Wars, the newer one on Cartoon Network, but the first season couldnt hold my attention. Too much "there's Grevious, get him! Oops he got way. Until next week!" going on there.

I still love Boba and Sandtroopers and the OS, but I think being in charge of a costuming organization and dealing with the drama of it all for the past 2 years, and being in charge of the Florida level prior to that has made me kinda jaded on Star Wars. lol Need a break. I find I costume it a lot less than I used to these days. Branching into more things. Experiencing a little burn out.

I think my husband preordered the blurays. I'll probably watch the OS again when we get those. Not sure if I will before then. If I do it would probably be Empire or Jedi.

Last month, SPIKE TV ran marathons of the OT and the PT back to back. I watched both runthroughs of the OT and one of the PT. :D

I last watched ANH I can't remember how long ago. I last watched ESB probably....2 years ago? Maybe 3?

I watched the Plinkett review of Attack of the Clones today. I see he has the review of Revenge of the Sith out now too.

I might be interested in watching the Prequels again sometime soon with the Riff Trax channel from the MST3K guys playing in the background. I've done that before.

Just watched ANH today. Have been in a SW kick for about a month. But I try to circulate my interests in phases to keep them interesting.

Earlier this year I watched the entire SE trilogy over the course of three days of mold making. Shortly after watching Jedi I wrote this.

The last time I remember watching Episode I or II was in May 2005, just before Episode III was released in theaters. I probably haven't watched Episode III since it came out on DVD. It's possible that I watched one or more of the prequels all the way through and don't remember it.

I still haven't sat down and watch all six back to back. I'll probably wait for the BluRay for that.

The last time I watched Episode I or II was preparing to go to Celebration IV in L.A. I never got through the end of II. The last time I saw III was also in the theater.

It's been quite a few months back but was flipping through the channels and either SW or Empire was on. Art always gives me a hard time and asks me why I am watching it on tv cause we have it on dvd and can watch it anytime. My answer is "cause it's on tv".

Last saturday i watched ESB, as ITV are running them each week as their afternoon movie. I watched the prequels last month when they showed them, but missed Star Wars last week. I guess rotj will be on next week and if im at home i will watch that then too :)
