What's Your Favorite Movie Sword

Re: What's Your Favorite Movie Sword

Cut it from clear plastic with the flame-edges then run colored LEDs in the hilt.

The handle is a bit small for all the Electronics that I want to put in but I am thinking of Calming it down. In the Mean time I don't want to distract from this Thread anymore so If you are interested in this Project or want to make other suggestions I actually had another Thread for this a while back. you can find it here :

Thanks for the Help and the Ideas.

Re: What's Your Favorite Movie Sword

I've always been fond of the Uruk-Hai sword from LotR.

I gotta agree with the cloud buster sword in avent children being awesome, my favorite sword at the minute though has to be "Chaos Eater" from the game darksiders

I am a sucker for the Highlander swords - movie and TV series.

I love Conan's Sword as well.

Legolas' swords are also really cool.

Too many to pick!

:)

I have a few...

1) the High Elven Longswords from LOTR (used in the Opening Battle)
2) He-Man's Sword of Greyskull from the live action "Masters of the Universe" film
3) Worf's Mek'leth
4) Christopher Lambert's Blade-Firing Sword from the Late 90's "Beowulf" (Lame, I know)
5) the DiLaurentis Conan Atlantean Sword
6) Any movie sword from an 80's film that look fantasyesque or unique enough to be briefly featured, but will never be made or found again (except on a custom basis).

PS: I tried finding a pic of Lambert holding the sword, but none exist online and I don't feel like screencapping something from that terrible, terrible film right now...

I really like the sword used by 'The Operative' in Serenity - works well in the retro-futuristic style that the movie and TV series has.

Re: What's Your Favorite Movie Sword

Wow that is really hard to answer...I have a few from film and television.

1. Conan's father's sword
2. Tri-blade from 'The Sword and the Sorcerer'
3. The Ned Stark sword from 'Game of Thrones'
4. The original Highlander katana

***swords I like from books or animated film...

1. Stormbringer from the book cover art by Robert Gould
2. Sting from the Hobbit (Rankin Bass)

Re: What's Your Favorite Movie Sword

I was surprised no one ever produced the Vorpal sword from Burton's Alice movie.

I remember sitting in that movie saying to myself now that one has to go in my collection. Your right it is a shame no one made it. I figured that would be an easy sell.

Re: What's Your Favorite Movie Sword

I have always liked Nomad's sword from Steel Dawn. I also really dig Karl Kroenen's swords from Hellboy. Both are very light weight and can be wielded quickly and precisely.

My top 5

#1. Kainen's sword from Outlander. I love it's raw, rough hewn look.
#2. Heaven's Fall from Seven Swords, slice 'n' dice with style (if you haven't cut yourself to ribbons learning how to use it :lol)
#3. Afro samurai's sword
#4. The Slayer's sword from Krull (I really wanted one of those as a kid)
#5. Ultraviolet's sword

Would have to be the Graflex based lightsaber - Luke's in ANH and ESB. But not Anakin's from ROTS...

My favorites are the two Ron Cobb designed Conan swords. That's what got me into sword collecting and designing.

United Cutlery was offered the license, and I reviewed the prop for them. It was a cool sword, but not one that would have been easy to replicate accurately. All those jewels too. Hard to see in the film, but it was covered with them. Ultimately we thought it was too much of a risk considering it was essentially a children's fantasy film.

I love swords, both real-life and fictional. Cloud's Buster sword and Sephiroth's Masamune are awesome. To ask my favorite though is like asking which of one's children is their favorite; I love them all :)

Swords that is.

Hopefully I'll be making my own swords as soon as I finish my forge ;)
