My Spider-man/Marvel theme workspace (although I can work anywhere with paper):

Foam stage is on halt at the moment, so in the meantime I test as many paper armor parts as I can for dimensions and practicality until the motivation comes back:

Gradually closing the fingers by sideways spiraling downwards, gluing the tabs at an angle in tight quarters was tough, even when starting with the finger tips. The tabs ocassionally tore and trying to press and hold them down inside the finger was a challenge, but there she is.
That being said: eventhough I haven't made a full costume yet in five years time :cautious: without this fine community I wouldn't have printed a single paper strip, so thank you all for having me here and ocassionally helping me out.You are all awesome

Just finished an EVA foam beverage insulator using a template from SKS Props. It fits a medium size plastic Solo cup so it actually can be used for beer! IMG_7892 square logo.jpg IMG_7894 square logo.jpg IMG_7895 square logo.jpg IMG_7896 square logo.jpg IMG_7897 square logo.jpg

I came across this rarely seen photo of the screen-used Han Solo Hero DL-44 prop and couldn’t believe my eyes. I can just make out what appears to be “Star Wars” branding on the left-hand side of the studio-made original. If so, how has this detail been missing from our replicas, for all of these years? Now, bear with me as I am sure that only I can see the before-mentioned branding so easily....

Look what happens when I zoom in and enhance the image, using very sophisticated A.I. technology.

Now, I am going to argue that that this image shows a weathered “Star Wars” logo, which makes sense as George was thinking about merchandising, even as he was making the film. Unless, of course, this was added during the “Special Edition” which is, I suppose, possible—but nonetheless brilliant.

In any case, armed this knowledge of this newly revealed detail, I began accurizing some of my DL-44’s, this afternoon.

I’ll also be adding what appears to be a secondary trigger button in the handle of all my replicas, moving forward.

Here are the helmets after they’ve been 2K clear coated and metalized with Alumaluster. I almost wish I could leave them like this! But alas.. everything in Star Wars is dirty.

These will spend a few days drying and then they’ll have their visors installed and be sent off back to their homes.

Thank you for the kind words folks! Glad you all aren’t getting tired of them, seems Mando helmets are all I work on these days. It’s much appreciated. :)

Mr Mold Maker Your passion is what you like doing best and that's great, even better if you can make a living from it.
Happy for you that you get a kick out of this(y) and no: Star Wars never gets old:p

Currently working on an underbarrel launcher from BSG. I downloaded the STL from Thingiverse and only after printing discovered it was designed for the original FN 5-7. So I downloaded a STL for a rail cover that would fit my Airsoft 5-7 and Frankensteined them together.
And a lot of filling and sanding it's almost ready for paint.

Started making a tiny bit of progress on the next part of my xenomorph taxidermy mount:

The DOOM BFG9000 is coming along. I have some of the paint work started:

This is my most recent photo that shows it kinda assembled:

I also got a wild hair and decided to start printing out some HALO weapons:

I've also been working on a couple of copies of the LOCUS helmet from HALO 4 and 5:

These guys are going to be gorgeous once they're all done:

On the other side of the shop, I've been painting up some copies of Paz Vizla's helmet from the Mandalorian:

I've nearly finished the master for his heavy blaster. Now I've started his jetpack as well:
50147122347_dd9b723907_c.jpg

It's oddly wide:
50147121102_0b46240fcb_c.jpg

I've also finished polishing up the new master for an improved version of my First Order TIE Pilot helmet:
50146881451_58015f629a_c.jpg

And finally, this week I started converting one of my old Mk8 Space Marine helmets into the new Primaris helmet version:

Once I get this guy smoothed out and polished up, I'll be molding it so I can make a few more of the new helmet variants.

There's more going on, but this post is long enough.

Watching the Adam Savage video for the ghostlab42.com build inspired me to work on the same kit for a GB1 costume for my better half.

Nixie tubes and heat wrap covers on the wiring, my arch enemy lol ;) after I finish that part it’s on to the second board
