Hey all,

I’m getting ready to build an escape pod. This is my first big build. What supplies, tools, glues, etc. would you get for yourself if you could go back in time to when you started? I already have an airbrush. I’m a fan of Tamiya paints.
Thanks,
John

Interesting question.

For the airbrush:
Air compressor with air tank.
Stand to keep the airbrush from falling over.

Perfect Plastic Putty. Make sure you put something like Vaseline on the threads, to keep it from drying out between uses!

Have a Dremel and an air brush. I ordered a panel scriber, a kit of just general tools, files, sanding bars, etc. I got some of the extra thin cement. I'm going to practice on a Bandai At-St.

Hi,

I made a video on my YouTube channel of my desk/tools set-up....

Don't feel you have to get everything. Just collect tools as you progress with the project as what's useful for one model maker might not be for you. Most jobs you can do without a certain tool 'every tool is a hammer'.

It sounds like you might have the basics i.e. scalpel, contact cement etc. My advice is buy a tool if and when you hit an issue that could be resolved better with a specialist tool i.e. need a sturdy 3rd hand - get a mini vice, need fine delicate filing - get needle files etc

Hope this helps, and good luck! Let us know how you progress buddy
