What to do with MR Boxes (Falcons & Others)?

Guys,

I finally got a MR Falcon and just opened it up today. I just have to say, like others, man it's heavy.

It's such an awesome piece. I think mine is a little dark, but I'm happy.

Well - what did you guys do with the box. I'm throwing the large one out and right now, storing it in the smaller one. Any reason not to do this?

I really don't think I will ever get rid of it or any my other MR pieces.

I basically have all my MR Boxes (Guns, AT AT, ect.).

I throw them out. If you ever do sell the piece and need to ship it, it can be repackaged. Better to sell it to someone local and have them drive over and pick it up.

Bury yourself in it. Cheaper than a casket, and just as big.

I'm keeping my styrofoam cradle to use when I re-paint my bird.

Well, the only problem with that is that there won't be enough room in there for me AND the Falcon.........

......and the AT-AT

......and a TIE fighter

Tape on a room addition, get an other box to fit the tool toys into. Do a latex dip to keep the buggers out, and the prized toys clean 4 ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, or at least till George Lucas losses the extra chin. :eek

I don't even have enough room in my house for the Falcon let alone the box and all of the packing so into the dumpster it went.

I still have the box for the Enterprise and that will be going into the bin next.

I collect comic statues as well as some MR stuff.
I dont keep the MR boxes, and as it is I am well past box critical mass anyways. I have tiny attic and some room in the garage. But that is it.
Keeping all the boxes for all the crap I collect just isnt in the cards anymore.
I dont plan on selling anything, but they sure are nice when you need to move, mostly for the custom cut foam packing inside. I think Ill keep the boxes and foam innards for the more delicate stuff. And collapse the cardboard boxes for the rest of the stuff, throwing out the foam inside.
the nice thing about MR stuff, it is built like a tank! So any future moving concerns are not too much of a worry.

Mine has been in the guest bedroom and in storage, under a set of stairs that run to the basement. My wife isn't too happy with the boxes in the guest bedroom, but she hasn't put up too much of a fuss that I had to get them out.

If you have a back yard, the boxes could be stored in a used storage shed outside.

Just make sure to water and bug proof the shed and have sufficient insulation/ventilation.

I plan to hang on to the boxes so that I can live in them on the street when I run out of money from buying all these huge replicas. :cry

Are you talking about the master replicas box or the dull brown shipping box?

I'd take the MR box if there was an easy way to ship it to me...

I keep 'em...especially the AT AT boxes. The AT AT is very delicate and I will repack it for moving. I just collapse the cardboard sleeves and store them flat to save space...and stack the styrofoam inserts. I have lots of storage space so it's not an issue, if I were in an apt., I may think different....

If your interested in retaining collector value, you should keep all boxes including the outer shipping carton. You never know what these models will be worth 15-20 years from now.

I have all my MR lightsaber boxes still. They are starting to take up room. I hate to throw them away incase I move or if I must sell (hoping that never happens).

I keep all the boxes. I folded the shipping box and use the inner box to keep the styrofoam box. If you wish to keep minimal boxes you must keep the styrofoam box for MR's studio scale display. The styrofoam box protect the large item from being damaged during shipping or moving.

I collect comic statues as well and the boxes become insane to keep.
I suggest throwing out the foam and folding the boxes up flat if possible.

I've got all my boxes in my storage room. I have to figure out something better.... the room is getting a little too full.

I keep them for protection (moving, storage, etc...), but there has to be a better way.

I've kept all of my MR boxes. All, but the Fett blaster box, are in my office/prop room closet(starting to run out of room). The Fett blaster box is in the 3rd car garage with my GG Yoda Monument box. Those were both to big for the closet.
