What is your favorite movie mistake?

There are also some lightsaber mistakes in Revenge of the Sith. If you look closely:

During the duel between Grievous and Obi-Wan, two of the lightsabers Grievous is using are clearly the Obi-Wan and Anakin sabers, even though Obi-Wan and Anakin retrieved their lightsabers from Grievous earlier in the film.

During the duel between Palpatine/Sidious and Mace Windu, Sidious is occasionally using Anakin's lightsaber hilt (though it has a red blade).

During the duel between Anakin/Vader and Obi-Wan on Mustafar, while they're grappling on the table inside the control room Obi-Wan is also occasionally using Anakin's lightsaber.

with all the technology when it was made how come they didnt edit those scenes? hand the right hilt to the actors??

The problem occured because they made some editing cuts to the fight sequence. Originally during fight they switched lightsabers, continued the fight then eventually got their originals back. The switches were cut but some of the in-between scenes were kept, thus they oddly switch sabers.

Not sure if its a mistake, but on BTTF2 how come Doc is wearin future clothes with a red shirt and red hightop boots when he drops off Marty and Jennifer in 2015, and then comes back wearin the train shirt and some brown lowtop shoes? Doin more time travelling during the Griff chase or somethin?

In Days of Thunder,, When Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are walking at the lake with "Rowdy Burns" and his wife,, Rowdy introduces his wife to " Cole Trickle" but as shes walking up she says " Hi Tom" and he says hello back..

I dont know if anyone mentioned this one yet...

TRON: Legacy....

When Quorra says "goodbye" to Kevin and Sam, and has a quick fight with Rinzler.
After Rinzler knocks her down and grabs her by her arm and walks toward the lower camera frame with her, Quorra appears as a y-axis reflection of herself. Her asymmetrical bangs slant to the opposite side, and her lights going down her leg appear as if to be on the opposite leg.

I love the bit in Space Mutiny when one of the workers get murdered and then later appears working at a computer terminal.

Twister has a few bits that drive me nuts, like how one shot has a very overcast, dark sky and then they cut to Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt and it's bright as day outside. Also, near the end of the movie with the F5 tornado, Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt hits a tractor with their truck and smash the windshield but in the next shot, it's fixed. LOL

Tron has a bit when Yori's helmet switches from a female program skullcap to a male program helmet. Also, there are a LOT of duplicate shots (probably to save money for animation purposes). There's a reaction shot of Tron that appears three times throughout the movie.

Blade Runner has a shot that if you look closely, you can see the plastic mold line on the blaster when Roy grabs Deckard's blaster. Also, there's that weird film jump that happens between Deckard pulling out his blaster and Leon smacking it out of his hand. Also, the scene when Deckard talks the snake dealer, the lips never match up, lol.

In Robocop, the guy bouncing when he hits the ground is hilarious. The car chase has varying degrees of damage to the police car as well as repeating landscape including some references to "Dallas" on the building. And Robocop's missing chin guard when he takes off his helmet.

Another Blade Runner one.
When Deckard is listening to the recording of Leon's Voight-Kampf interrogation, the delivery of the line "let me tell you about my mother" is completely different to the one at the start of the film.

While that IS a classic bit (not to mention the whole "backwards Galactica" thing), I think any film that was riffed by MST3K cannot seriously qualify for this list, since the entire film is usually a mistake. :)

In War of the Wordls, when Tom Cruise stands beside the van when they leave the basement to see the plane crash, the son is seen walking past and then cuts to a wider shot and the son walks past him a second time

CARRIE!

I like that one so much, I put it in the end of my first comic.

What bout "Almost Famous" when Crudup's character finally agrees to do the interview near the end. He brushes the clothes off the chair, sits down, cuts away for a moment, and then when it goes back to him in the chair the clothes are there again, ha!

Yes, I agree. :)

Seriously, though, I had the exact same thought about pulling the hammer back on an automatic pistol. I could sort of get it if it's a revolver, but an automatic? And with the pump action shotgun, WHY DO THEY ALWAYS RACK THE SLIDE? Apparently people do regularly wander cinemaland without having chambered another round. And it can't be because they're conserving ammo, because they NEVER run out.

I guess the drama of old west single action pistols just never goes out of style. I'll tell you, though, when I was getting mugged a year ago, the guy didn't have to rack the pistol or cock the hammer to get his point across...

Even on a modern automatic pistol it is easier to pull the trigger on single action than it is on double. Owning both a Sig and Glock and having fired other autos I definitely prefer firing single action over double and I've read that a number of people don't like Glocks because of the weird trigger pull.

Something that you're all forgetting is that semi-automatic pistols default to single action whenever you first chamber a round or after firing a round. As a result, I'd argue that it would be natural for someone to want to cock the hammer on their pistol in order to get the easier single action trigger pull.

War of the worlds, Tom Cruise playing a 'poor' guy, but drives a classic 1965 (Mustang)Shelby GT-350 Hertz, that even if it's a replica would easily pay both his children through college...
Any car movie where a car jumps and is completely destroyed when landing, and then driving off undamaged.
Sound and flames in space is a classic too.
