Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter was bad.
Quite a few actually.Clearly you didn't pay to see many movies in 2012! :lol
Quite a few actually.
Due to the overwhelming hype behind it, I let Dark Knight Rises edge off That's My Boy for worst movie I've seen in a theater in 2012. After a recent rewatch of DKR, I was disappointed even more, it had a few saving graces but nothing to save what I thought was a poor plot, terrible dialog and Bane, ugh Bane - a character so bad they tricked us to think he was a girl then totally emasculate him.
Avengers probably topped my list... while the plot may've been bit contrived, it was the little things that made the Avengers work so well for me. (No flame here).Really? DKR wasn't great but the worst film you saw? Wow.
Whatever floats your boat man!
Of the movies I saw none of them were bad but if I were to pick one I'd have to say The Avengers. It was a 6.5/10 for me and I did enjoy it but it wasn't as good as DKR, Prometheus, or Skyfall IMHO.
(waiting for the flame...)

John Carter may be right behind DKR and That's My Boy in the worst category.
Generally speaking, if it's a Sunday evening and I'm not at work I go to the movies... so I tend to see quite a few flicks. If they'd open the gym on Sunday nights, I'd probably not see as many, lol.To be completely fair, as I said, I did like it. (thanks for not flaming :lol)
I only saw:
- Prometheus
- DKR
- Avengers
- Skyfall
I absolutely agree with everything you've written here. Of the 2012 movies I've seen, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter was the worst.Hands down, the worst film of 2012 was "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter".
Everything that made the book an entertaining read was absent from the film.
The make-up was horrific, especially "older Lincoln", the CGI was unacceptably so poorly rendered as to be comical, an the already sketchy premise was malformed into a completely un-watchable, so bad it is sad, melange of just about everything one can do wrong with a big budget motion picture.
This is compounded by the fact the fellow that wrote the enjoyable book also wrote the abortion of a script.
Is this the thread where I admit that I still haven't bothered to watch Avatar?
:lol
I was surprised to see some people had Prometheus on their list of best films - I would put it here.
Dont say that about Bourne. I didn't see that movie (I don't know how or why, but didn't), but I love the Bourne franchise and wanted to and will see this movie. But that is disappointing that it was......disappointing.
As long as Nic Cage needs money, Drive Angry's & Ghost Riders will still be made.
I don't like to type any TEXTSPEAK, but that was very much LOL worthy. I did literally, laugh out loud. But yeah, you aren't missing much. It may have been one of the greatest things I have ever seen. And by that I mean, truly, especially in 3-D, visually stunning. When Sam Worthington's character first wanders through the forest at night, it is like nothing I've ever seen before. But the movie itself leaves much to be desired. But again, watching this movie at certain points, is like watching moving art.
Just the movie kind of......well.....isn't all that great.
Now hang on, you must not have looked at my movie tickets above. Because you missed such classics as Contraband & Act Of Valor & Chernobyl Diaries......
:facepalm Ok. Maybe you didn't miss much. But at least we have the Avengers to fondly look back on. Wait, you did like the Avengers, right Wes?
I know i'm gonna get whacked for this....
Dredd 3D
I was SOOOOO looking forward to it....what i got was a small feeling flick that was more like a fan-film. The techno soundtrack gave me a headache, the 3d was pretty limited and the whole thing felt like a non-profit making venture....
I hope future Dredd outings are larger in scope...
