What does Matsuo owe you? (Problems with Matsuo)

I am more interested in someone just letting him know that this is an issue- because he appears shut down and not tuned into how his disconnection from his customers is really upsetting us and possibly effecting his reputation
I think we are way past that! At some point I believed he was honest. But i'm pretty sure he knows what he is doing right now. It might not have been his intent all along, he probably got way over his head at some point, taking orders because he needed the money and never had time to fullfill all his orders and kept taking new orders because he still needed more money. But I don't see how he would not be aware of the fact he is upsetting people or that his reputation is pretty much ruined now.

oh, I see

Does he still work for a gun shop? All of you that are owed need to get together, write a letter with everyones name, how much he owes and sent it to his local police dept. Maybe when they see how much this guy has scammed people AND works at a gun shop they will say something. If not at least they will have heard about it. If he has an FFl send it to the ATF. Play hardball.

Dude no offense but what does the ATF have to do with it lol ?

I think the only thing that got my item back in 2021 was after discovering people had issues, I stayed on top of him as he started extending past original estimate and I was well within chargeback timeframe. The fact I also live about 4 hrs away probably helped that too since I could have popped over personally.

There is no excuse. It's too bad because his work really is that good. His BSG season 1 gun is probably my single favorite prop. One day I'll have to see if I can find some replacement wood grips because it really deserves them.

FO3Winger & headhunter999 - guys, my advice would be to contact PayPal now re refunds.
Don't hang on thinking you might be that one person that Matt fulfills his order for.

I get that you may have fallen out of the PP dispute period, but surely PP can see that there is a pattern of behavior from this guy. Certainly worth asking PP to look into your claims, as well as having the wider conversation on why PP allow him to maintain an account AND why isn't he banned from RPF ... Art Andrews ?

There are people still here that have taken members for MUCH more money then Matsuo that never got banned . He was a long time member that delivered for years before going bust . IMO he underpriced his work and I believe that must have helped in him not delivering . The hrs he must have put into a pulse rifle plus materials could not have been worth the profit . His razor sharp quality that made him famous in the hobby went down hill even when he did deliver towards the end . Go spend a few months making something and charge 1200 - 1500 less materials and fees And shipping it just doesn’t add up . But he really should have raised his prices or just shut it down instead of not delivering of course. I really think that’s one of the reason members failed to chargeback PayPal was that of his prices and nobody else making them . I have seen many of his items resold for profits . Look at what that sack of sh** SD was charging for rifles compared to Matsuo they were several thousands more and he used Matsuo parts lol . You can lawyer up really try find to one cheap lol ? So that’s is not even an option . You will have to file a small claims and have to travel to the state where he lives which will cost you more money and even if he does show up to court which isn’t for certain he will probably claim poverty and at best they will have him make payments each much that he can afford . And then if he does make a payment he could just stop down the road. Then what travel back to his state and start over ? Try paypal or the bank card you used thats sadly all you can do at his point for waiting this long . PayPal does cover up to 9 months or something like that .

I believe enough people have had money stolen by Matt that it's time to get lawyers involved.
Lawyers are expensive...class-action law suits? Maybe...but that's a long shot unless a throng of people sign some kind of legal doc stating the $$ amounts Matsuo owes them, etc. Lots of time being spent running left and right while you could just accept your loss and get on with your life.:(

I've been in that situation before and I'm pass my anger/loss of funds for what I've paid and never received despite countless emails and such.
The RPF will not advocate on behalf of a member in that situation; it's not this site's job/responsability to do so.

I'm not sure as to why Matsuo hasn't been banned yet:unsure::(

Yes, lawyers are expensive. As luck would have it, 2 of my family members are lawyers and are more than willing to help me out. While you may be willing to accept a big financial loss and let someone get away with taking advantage of you, I am not.

You do you, of course, but I've been here 23 years and I don't think I've ever seen an RPF member successfully bring legal action against another member for non delivery. Lots of talk, yup, but results, nada. It sucks, but you may have to just eat it and not make the same mistake again.

Tru dat, been around a long time and a LOT of talk. And granted even some personal visits... But nothing successful, legal wise anyway.

Exactly, and people know this, so when they are planning to leave the hobby, they have no fear taking a bunch of money on the way out the door. They know nobody is going to come after them.

Damn, what was that guy's name, when they videoed it? I was actually lucky enough to get a refund from him for a vaporware PKD back in around 2002! A lot of flakes over the years.....

I'm not sure if this works but I found this online at:

"Report Online Fraud to the FBI Internet Fraud Complaint Center

Go to the FBI’s Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC) website, locate the type of fraud that most closely matches your situation, and click on the “File a Complaint” link to fill out an online form. The IFCC provides a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of a suspected criminal or civil violation."

If enough people file a complaint, you might at least get some payback. Plus, you don't have to resort to threats or your own funds.
