What color should the NX-01 refit be?

I was given a model kit of the Nx-01 refit Enterprise for Christmas and I'm eager to start it but I want to prepaint the parts but I'm baffled as to what color it should be. All of the pics that I've found online show it to be silvery or a gunmetal color but the model's instructions say it's supposed to be grey. Is there a general opinion on what color it should be? I know it was never seen on screen but I'm just trying to build it as "accurately" as possible.

Here's a quote from Doug Drexler, designer of the NX-01, re: her look on screen:

Here again is nearly the same shot with a lot of ambient light ... I wish that the brightness of the ship had been a little more like this, closer to… you guessed it, the original Enterprise. The NX appeared dark and dingy on [the] actual show. Against space it was often hard to see. Not to my taste. An Enterprise should not be pushed into the background, it should show boldly. It’s gallant and bright, and wears a white hat.

There's picture here as well: https://www.facebook.com/doug.drexler.7/media_set?set=a.10151089685316104.434524.570346103

Sounds like he wanted something lighter in color, though still with distinct panel ... differentiation.
