Amazon had a LED Lightbox on sale, so I finally broke down and bought one. Not quite large enough for proper saber photos, but it beats taking photos on my kitchen table.
This is an idealized Wampa saber I just finished up with a new Folmer top half. WannaWanga grips and d-ring, Skywampa faux-rivets, Roman clamp lever, everything else is vintage from various board members.
I also spent a half-day sanding a first-get steel ESB shroud last weekend to fit my MPP tube. Any suggestions on paint? The high-heat satin black I usually use looks a bit naff.

Thanks. I have a whole drawer full of Graflex tops from trying to find one this clean.

Like always, I added brass rails...but there's something else I must do...besides the normal stuff...lol
I have my scratch-built, foundry cast Dooku hero that needs finishing and it's taking me forever for fear of mucking the whole thing up last minute.
Since RotS' 20th will be next year, I'm heavily considering doing the metal Sidious hero hilt, built like the real prop (with some minor idealization) and scrapping the paint application on the surround and opting for a hilt of bronze, copper, aluminium, and brass. Thinking about doing the 'V2' again as well to better replicate the prop's duller finish but in metal.

Every time i get one of these in my hands I just think to myself, "This may be the greatest belt hanger version of the "Hero" i've ever seen." (Strictly Hero, not Yuma, ISYHCANL etc.)
I was thinking yesterday that this is my All-Time favorite hilt Anakin Starkiller has ever done.(Excludig the Yuma for personal reasons). It's simply perfect! I like his BoBF version too, but this one takes the cake.

The Rylo has been my favorite version since the first time I held one. Really glad they canonized it with the Mandalorian. Currently working on updating the internals of one for display. It also makes a nice middle ground between the ROTJ V1 and the creepy uncle. In my head cannon, the sabers are more like touring guitars than classic swords - constantly being upgraded due to wear and tear. That's partly why I like the changes to the Graflex in the sequel trilogy - reminds me of the kind of restoration done to old pre-CBS Strats when they're being prepped for a collector instead of a player. Patch it up, make it pretty.
One thing is that the prop teams have been on point, for sure. I think we agree on the Kenobi series prop/plot quality ratio. The EP3 was always my favorite variant, until I saw the Kenobi one. I went out of my way to get an MR to convert, and when my wife saw it sitting next to a Roman that was about to donate its balance pipe, she vetoed the idea. "That one (MR) looks like a lamp, this one looks a motorcycle." Since the living room display was kind of her idea, OT it is.

Greedo Killer took a big leap forward with a genuine Compac 2 1/2 I found recently. A Solos Hold grill is on order and I’ve signed up for a scope mount from CE’s new run.
