What’s going on in this ESB saber pic question.

So I was looking at vintage set photos from ESB and came across a pic of Luke with his saber. Is it just me or are there no notches in the grips? 2nd button or glass eye? Bulge at the top? Was this a stunt version?

Perhaps this has already been covered but I’d love to know the background here.

I believe thats the stunt saber thats used when Luke has his hand cut off. You can see the cone knobs in the Graflex cable ports that were installed there for some reason. Thats probably not even Hamills real hand, most likely the fake one. Theres other pics in Seths bible.

Yep! Its the only shot we have with that greeblie still in the glass eye port - its the only thing i dont have on my replica. I think the objects du mythe book was the first place we saw this saber

Have you figured out what the control box greeblie is? Looks like a flashgun reflector clip like the Kobold but I havent seen any flashguns that have that exact piece.

The closest thing Kurtyboy and I have found is a camper or RV curtain track splicer. The gap is 1mm wider than the real prop, so not an exact match, but very close.
