I sent my pics last night and got the confirmation today. Others have said it but I'm going to repeat them. Thanks to Weta, Art Andrews and everyone else involved in putting this contest together, it been great fun.
I can't believe this all started back in march, how time flies when your having fun!!!

phew, Jammin out to try and get all those final details in place in time for my gun's close up! Time flew. Some really awesome lookin builds are showing up you all! A few have got me shakin in my expeditionary boots. Back to the shop!

Whew...talk about a painting marathon!
The challenge? How do I take pictures of this thing on a neutral background? For now it's the great outdoors. I will try to get pictures this evening and keep the background dark... What a fun contest! Thanks everyone for putting it on! I know I went a little outside the box for mine, but after looking through the sketches in the Dingus Directory, I really wanted to make something that looks like it could have been in there.

Here is my "Stupendous Steer" blaster. The internal bulb pulses with energy as well, the forward handle can rotate for either left or right handed personnel so as to ease the comfort of the user as they decimate their foes!
Had a great time working on this! I've submitted a few more shots just to show the variations of the color of the lighting in the bulb.
Thanks to Weta, Art and the rest here for arranging this! Hopefully we'll get more contests like this.

Well, just submitted my entry...hopefully it worked. Thanks to everyone for all the help with picture taking tips. My entry is named The RB1226 Sonic boom stick I had alot of fun thanks prop board and thanks WETA!!!!!

Well, I've submitted my pictures! Very hard to do a neutral background with it being so tall (about 7 feet before the addition of the Grordbort logo!). What a great contest and a lot of awesome weapons to see...really great work everyone.

Well, I blew it... didn't take into account the ridiculous humidity here in FL (just moved). 82% humidity = it's been hours and the paint's still super tacky. I did not foresee that standing between me and making the deadline.
Comforted in my failure by the sheer quantity of awesomeness in this thread, though.
It doesn't look like much since half the bits were off being painted, but I'll post a WIP anyway (so I can prove I DID actually do work). I'll post the finished gun here when the paint deigns to dry. *sob*

Okay, so total prop newb here. This is my first REAL project. I don't have a whole lot of talent... or a dedicated work space, but I thought I'd give this a try. I'm mostly happy with my result, but I am AMAZED by the awesomeness in this thread as represented most recently by Applefish.
Darn. I forgot to take a picture of the weathering on the trigger. I'm actually quite proud of that particular detail.... I call it the "Bruising Bison". Not the most original name, I know (hopefully someone else didn't already take it...), but I was thinking of a more American Western theme that's sort of steampunk. Hence the lack of a trigger guard, the use of the vacuum tubes, and the color white. Why white? I don't know, it just seemed to fit and break it up more than just copper and black.
Anyway, don't laugh too hard at my novice attempt.

Few. With three minutes to spare. I present the Galumphing Gaur. Born on the surface of Mercury hence the great deal of soot and ash that grace it's skin. For the story to this burly bovine, look to page 30 at the very bottom of this forum thread. :lol

And yeah that thing on the floor is a modified jet pack converted into a particle fuel accelerator. I just ran out of time to strap it to my back. Of course, right?
