BTW, as a note to all those who haven't received confirmations yet, we have gotten in a ton of entries in the past 24 hours, so please bear with me as I get your confirmations out. It is a real shame that there can only be two winners for this competition because out of all of our contests, I don't think I have ever seen so much creativity and amazing work as I have seen with your entries. Just ridiculously good work, but then this is the RPF and that is what you guys are all about.

Does anyone have any helpful photo tips... all the color is washing out on my pics

I tried to get the room reasonably well-lit, but not too much, and used a little desk lamp as a spot. I also manually went through the settings on my digital camera and took the three shots with each setting to see which worked best, because I don't think they accounted for this particular scenario when programming the auto-adjust. Mine's a little large, though, so getting it all in focus was trickier than lighting it. I think it may have been "Landscape" with flash that kept the best colour, because it disabled some of the over-eager focusing. It probably varies by camera.

Really unique, love the cylinder!

Knightjar, I want to say something high-minded about cohesive design elements and how you incorporated the curves and the bison form throughout, but my lizard brain keeps overriding with "coooool!"

I've been lucky enough to find a few electro-image plates of the first official field tests of "Dr" Phineus Grordbort's prototype weapon.

Seen here in the hands of one of the Elite Earth Forces test pilots, we can see a glimpse of the magnitude of this highly volatile Aether Oscillator. Seen here with the Incendiary throwing device detached in the first render, then being used to good effect in the following two plates.

For the sake of clarity, attached below is the complete account of "Dr" Phineus Alexander (The Greater) Grordbort, illustrating his Venusian adventure. The file has been compiled into a conveniant PDF for consumption at your leisure.

I wasn't sure exactly what 3/4 view meant. I'm guessing that it means kind of from above? This is the first time I think I've finished a project in so short a time. Looking forward to other Grorbort inspired contests and topics of interest

Ughh so disappointed I was unable to get one done for this, even with the very very lengthy timeframe provided to us.
Turns out lots of people want solar panels installed in the summertime, which has meant crazy long hours and lots of hours on the road pretty much since June.

A week or two ago I decided to just do a D9 style paintjob just to have something to show but I couldn't manage even that.

Great job to everyone who has been showing pictures all along, so many awesome things in here! I do not envy those at Weta who have to judge them all!

Finally sent
Amazing work everyone i'd hate to be one of the judges.
Heres a little explanation.

Upon entering the Venusian atmosphere the trans lunar transport vessel "Atomic Aphrodite"(crewed entirely by the fairer sex by jingo!) Carrying the very last shipment of "Righteous bisons" from the lunar foundries, encounters an ion storm of epic proportions.
Crash landing on the surface far from help and with all power sources destroyed by the ionic disturbance. The intrepid crew finds themselves besieged by countless hordes of murderous beasts, with only makeshift bludgeons and rudimentary blades bodged from the very ship itself the odds seem insurmountable.
Meanwhile in the very bowels of the vessel the exceptional ships engineer miss Katie "rocket" Johnson is desperately searching for a new source of power. Frustrated at her lack of progress and angered by the loss of her friends not to mention the damage to her beloved Aphrodite, she lashes out at one of the native Venusian bombardier beetles which seem to have snuck into every nook and cranny.
Suddenly a huge surge of neutron particles ejected from the rear of the bulbous little bug, slices through the bulkhead like it was made of cottage cheese, Finally the answer seems at hand.
Working through the night she carefully encases one of the little buggers within the carcass of a defunct Righteous Bison, Stepping out blinking into the Venusian morning she aims at the nearest drooling Beastie and fires, Upon regaining consciousness she realises nothing is left but a strange scent of charred beef and singed hair wafting in the breeze.
With some slight adjustments the new weapon turns the slavering tide and is soon in use by Lord Cockswains Expeditionary force, smiting the heathen masses wherever it is aimed.

Behold, the "Johnson 5000 Bullock Berator" is born, Scourge of stinking hordes across the galaxy. (approved by 98% of martian housewives.)
