Weta - Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Contest! - SHOW OFF YOUR CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS!

Yes! Ordered the thing this evening! Looking forward to working on it and seeing what everyone else comes up with!

We can certainly ask about it, but no promises.

Unassembled would offer greater opportunity for reassembly in new andimproved forms. I would like mine shipped in bits if it is at all possible.

BTW - way over at the Brass Goggles forum, several steampunk folk are now also participating via RPF, so there will be some seriously brassy Bison's on their way.

Hey - 'The Brassy Bison' - I might go with that.:rolleyes

(Either that or 'The Copper Cow')

Woooo! im in!

Pre-ordered today and cant wait!

Many Thanks to all envolved putting this comp together! Tho my missus is gonna hate me! i can hear it now! "another Project!":angry lol

Quick question tho! Is there anything against casting parts of the bison for our build! for example: if i wanted to use more pressure dials (indicator thingies) in my design.

Would this be allowed? sorry in advance if this has already been asked and ive missed it!

I'm in and thanks for providing this amazing opportunity! I got my feet wet in the prop making world with the "scratch build a weapon" contest and was hoping something like this would come up!

Preordered today. Didn't realize we don't get charged until it ships.

Oh man do I have something special planned.:love

I'm with the unassembled crowd but whatever works best for Weta works. Getting this thing for a steal anyhow so can't complain.

Haven't heard back on the unassembled thing yet. I am just going to venture a guess again that they WILL come assembled, so plan for that. If it changes, I will let you guys know.

I preordered as soon as I heard, couldn't resist! Hoping to mod some more dollar store guns between now and then just to test out some ideas. I'm inexperienced in props compared to most here but super excited about the opportunity. Going to give it my all.

How is Weta checking member status? Was I supposed to put my SN in a comments field? I don't want to get my order cancelled since I've been too busy/shy to do the forum thing.

I'm so excited just about owning one of these, let alone getting to customize it without the guilt of stripping off someone else's work. I may have to make a costume for myself just to go along with it! (Not for the competition, obviously, just for fun)

How easy was it to take apart?

Thats true, it would make it easier. Any chance we can get them shipping unassembled? (no harm in asking!) ;)

Thanks Everyone,

It's a good idea to ship them unassembled, but it's now too late to make the change. So we will have to stick with the assembled gun this time around.

If the competition goes well, we can look at making this change next time.

Thanks for the suggestions

Cheers

Tim

Just joined up to the RPF membership. Also put in my order for a "nude". As ordering these is,I am guessing open only to the RPF members how do you confirm my order as part of the RPF members list? Im kinda new to this type of thing.

Hi guys,

We see a number of people asking about verifying their membership and we apologize for the confusion. You will essentially be verifying your membership when you send in photos of your completed raygun to promo@therpf.com. No need to worry about it until then!

Heck yeah I am in. Been looking for something fun to try my hands on. Going to be interesting to see what people come up with. Guess I better start brainstorming.
