Meh...give 'em the Ponch already. I would wager it has been up on that site for some time, so whoever it was has been milking your work for some time. Ponch 'em.

Wow, that tool even copied your text word for word... even the email link to YOU to ask if there are any questions.

He's direct linking pics from your website. Modify or change the pics he's linking to into something totally unrelated: static snow, blank black, gay porn, etc. Then move your pics to a different directory and re-link them.

You can also visit the freewebs.com site and click the link at the bottom to report abuse - they have a few options that you can use to report this guy.

Yes. Listen to the man.

I had a problem with some a-hole copying a DVD I made (I did all the authoring, menus, encoding etc.) and selling it as his own on eBay...
He linked directly to screengrabs that I had hosted on my own webspace.... BIG MISTAKE. :angry
I created a blank white rectangle in Paint Shop Pro, added text which read "I'm an untalented w*nker, who rips off other people's hard work... etc. etc." and then saved it as the filename of one of the original screengrab pics and uploaded it to my webspace. :D

3 days later, and 45 views on his auctions (he had 2 or 3 going at the same time) he ended his auctions early and send me an irate email... I got a lot of satisfaction outta that one... still makes me grin just thinking about it :D

Do it man... revenge is S-W-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-E-T :love

Cheers,
John

You might be able to find out how long the site has been stealing your images by checking here:
http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

You can also track down the phone number for Freewebs and call them (I did) and demand that they remove the Site, the Pictures that are linked to your site, or both.

Somone did that to me, and I shut down their site completely.

Here is Freewebs number 1-877-598-6687

I just posted this in his Guestbook:

For a Con Artist such as yourself I find it interesting that you are claiming that this is YOUR TUTORIAL.

YOU know as well as I do that you STOLE IT FROM SOMEONE MUCH MORE TALENTED.

That still cracks me up everytime I see it... :lol

Man, I love you guys. :lol

I was planning on giving him the "ponch" but so many people link to that tutorial and if I change it, some valid sites will be affected.

So, I sent that pantload an email and I will give him till tomorrow.

Then I will contact freewebs and have at him.

What a hoser. The fact that he even copied the "if you need help, e-mail me here" link would be funny, if it weren't so ****ed up.

:angry Ponch. Ponch. Ponch.

{EDIT} Oh, I just noticed that you opted against the Ponch for a good reason. But it's still fun to say, "Ponch." :p

Nail him with this picture... ;)

And thievery is just plain wrong. He isn't imitating me, he is stealing from me.

All he would have had to do was send an email asking for permission and I would have said OK.

As evidenced by this thread, RPF members have been leaving some fine feedback for the thief in his Guestbook.

When I look in the Guestbook, though, I don't see any of those comments.

I'm guessing that (unfortunately) the Guestbook comments go first to the owner of the site, so that he can decide whether to post them or delete them?

That's a shame. I had really hoped to see them on his page. And, more to the point, I had hoped that other people would see them.
