Weathering black helmet?

Hi all! I have a trooper helmet I'm going to be painting black, and I was wanting to battle damage it and weather it. Would really like it to look well worn.

I have done white helmets before, but never black. So all my techniques are kinda useless on the black.

Any ideas?

Use the same technique you used to weather white helmets, just use a grey, white, silver or a mixture of all three colours when weathering.

Paint it silver/metal first. Then paint it black. Role it around in some gravel gently. You'll have
nice metal wear. Also, dark oranges are good for a rust effect. Good luck. Show us when your done.
