Hey Prop Sleuths!

Thanks!

I'm not sure what kind it is, but here's a screen cap. Sorry it's kind of soft and blurry, but I hope it helps:

Great show, easily my favorite of the new season. Good luck!

Can't puzzle out the brand name on the dial, but I'd venture it's a Valjoux 22 movement.

Thanks for the screenshot! Can anyone make out the maker's name or recognize the watch? It's a fun show. I really enjoyed the first episode. I hope the third episode is stonger than the second.

Okay, I just freeze-framed the latest episode - it definately says Langel. However, my web searches have led to nothing.

Which makes me sad.

Any antique watch guys wanna chime in?

There were any number of chronograph watches made using that movement -- many of which have virtually no information available anywhere. I own a couple of them myself. One possibility -- seek out a similar Valjoux 22 movement chronograph in a similar case, and have a new dial made to fit it (this is called 'redialing'). An expensive option, and the watch itself won't be inexpensive either, but it's one road.

PS -- could also be a similar movement in the Valjoux line, say a 23.

It may be a completely different company, but there's a watch on ebay right now that is made by Langel. It's a different style than Ned's watch, but at least we know the company does exist? Do a search on "Langel Watch" on ebay and the auction will pop up. It's apparently a Swiss company?

Sorry to dredge up and old thread like this, but did anyone ever find one of these? or any information regarding this kind of watch?

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately my searches for Langel and Larget chronograph watches haven't turned up anything other than sites (like watchesinmovies) where people have asked what kind of watch is worn by Ned in pushing daisies and replies have been posted from what people think it says on the face in the close-ups.

Does anyone have a link or information regarding this kind of watch or did anyone who was looking last time around end up finding one like it?

Here is a link to a watch forum where a guy claims to be a cofounder of the "Langel owners club". If it's a Langel, (FlashHarry / Neal) should know.

Good luck,

I just discovered this show and blew through both seasons. Is there any chance this watch has been identified yet?

The watch looks to be either a "Larcel or Langel" Chronograph. I doubt you will find this particular watch listed in any books or the internet. Its an "off brand" French or Swiss maker most likely a "contract watch" which means some other maker was contracted to produce this watch under their name brand. If you can find this exact same design watch under another maker then the dial can be refinished to match the watch pictured. Most watches like this were 14k gold cases and unfortunately most were destroyed for the gold. I'm pretty sure the case is Gold not plated. I hope this helps
