Want to feel bad about how much you earn (TF2 in game items)

You see that all the time. I know with a lot of games they banned folks from replicated hard to find items in game and selling them for tons of money in real life. Second Life is that way too, people make all sorts of stuff and can make a living off it if you're good at it.

Crazy...it's like the real world...I know those Koreans are crazy about their MMO's!

W4 tax form? They file jointly and their spouse is Team Fortress... :lol

There are actually folks on second life who make their money creating custom genitals for avatars lol

I like how they used his quote out of context in the title. And I am pretty 100% sure the 500k figure came from when they first started doing the items, which was a year or 2 ago.

Isn't it about steam workshop item contributors? I heard some contributors got several good items into game, so total earning of them are about like that. I think that is kinda reasonable, becaues they are usually team-made and divide that incomes.
Absolutely, that is not a constant income, so it will decrese a lot if the new, better item comes out.
So... Yes, the creative workers earns lots of money if they are lucky or really talented.

Just look in the news. Kid sells rss feed app that has 3 categories. For like 10 million to yahoo. Ridiculous. Dont get me wrong. Happy for him. But your not telling me he wouldnt have snatched a million. Dont even think he had a decent job..... which moron decided to offer that extreme amount? I could have saved yahoo 9 million doing his job

Yeah, I've seen that a lot lately. I've been really tempted to buy myself a cheap second-hand Mac and teach myself how to code, write an app for the iPhone.

It's all about scaling. I might write an app and charge a dollar for it. If fifty thousand people think, "Hey, I'll give this thing a try" then I just made fifty thousand dollars, minus whatever cut the app store I have my app in charges.

Im not experienced in this so perhaps im wrong. But from what ive read. There isnt that much to be made. You have to have the app AND be incredibly lucky to make this kind of cash. Angry birds for example would have taken a full team of devs to create I imagine. Im almost sure the kids app isnt worth 10 million. That in particular wasnt anything to do with being well scaled. Overvalued more like it. It definitley wasnt a one and only app. By the looks an rss feed with 3 categories.

Hats off to him though. Im sure weed all like an extra 10 million in the wallet. Wish him all the best.
