Want to Commission: Pair of Luke Bespin Boots for a 5 Year-Old

Okay, so I wanted to make this thread apart from my kids' Halloween costumes as I need to make a special request. Their costumes are being made by LadySewforUs from TDH, but I am having trouble with the Luke EpV boots.

I am hoping somebody on the RPF can take me up on a commission to make my son (5 years old) a pair of Luke Skywalker Bespin boots in time for Halloween.

I don't know what the charge would be, but I am willing to pay a reasonable price.

I have looked for alternatives, but there is nothing commercially available.

Please reply to this thread or PM me.

Thanks.

I checked. There is no footwear of any kind offered.

One thing to note, I am not looking for super-accuracy. I just need reasonable likenesses in passable materials.

Thanks.

How about looking for some kids cheap knockoff ugg boots then just adding a couple of straps? Not perfect, but for a kid definitely passable.

I have looked at the Uggs as a last resort option, but I am worried they are too hot to be comfortable and they are also a bit too 'off' for the look I am aiming for. While not 100% accurate, I am looking for better than average.

Here is a picture I found on the net of somebody's solution for adult boots. I just don't have the skills or equipment to do it myself.

I bought a pair of Minnetonka moccasin boots and added the straps. I imagine they have kids sizes.

Hector,

I had the same problem recently when my 6 year old son decided a few days before Dragoncon that he wanted to go as Luke in Bespin gear. My cheap and easy solution was purchasing a pair of Sckecher girl’s boots from a local store and gluing the matching fabric onto the boots.

Once I had the boots covered I used the remaining fabric to make the three straps on each boot. These straps were held on with Velcro and glue. It only took a few hours to cut and glue all of this together but in the end I was very happy with the way they turned out and my son loved them.

If you decide to do something like this let me know and I will be happy to help in any way that I can.

AT-AT....we could make these for you, no problem. Since they'd be custom you're probably looking at around $100.00 + $10.00 shipping. I hope you don't think that's too unreasonable. We'd pattern them ourselves and put our own soles on them, too.
