whats a chuck?

It’s a machining tool used to hold round objects. The piece that holds the material on a lathe is a chuck.

Also, fantastic build! I’ve always loved McQuarrie’s work and seeing them come to life is so awesome.

i did a gunmetal dark grey acrylic spray that was a mistake (it's dark grey with metallic), so now i have to re-do it with gunmetal from a can (metal cote), so i can buff it afterwards. the nosle is going to be silver/alu metal, the grips maybe brown but i'am doubting just to keep it black.

I've used a Model Masters exhaust that could be buffed and it worked pretty well. But lately I've been liking the look of graphite powder on a gloss black, it gives a nice metal look.

i got humrol metal cote, next time im going to try the graphite powder, i still have to finnish my dl-18 that project was in hybernation to.

My instincts would be to keep it monochromatic.

Not sure who did this one - I think it's really well-done, but in my opinion the wooden grips and forestock look out of place:

Brushed 2 coats of humbrol gun metal metal cote on it and buffed it with a kitchen

cloth.
I'm fine with the result, would like to seal it but I need some advice on that.

That looks amazing. I’ll have to try the metal cote. I just tried using rub n buff and am not pleased with the results I got.
