Wall-mounted lightsaber displays?

It's making me batnuts that my display cases don't match, so I'm thinking of just making a big wall mounted one for all of them, or a few trio sized ones, I dunno. It seems like I've seen them, but I couldn't seem to find the thread. I'd love to see what people have done, get a few ideas.

I was thinking a basic shadow box with a blue flocked backing to look kinda like the MR presentation boxes. Not sure I have the know-how to do mirrored back and acrylic, so the cradles would likely have to be wood, though I'm not sure if that'd hurt the saber at all.

Post 'em if you got 'em!

I'd love to do a saber coffee table, glass topped with the sabers laid out inside, but the wife put the kibosh on that idea. :unsure

I've been playing with an idea for a saber display for a while now, but it's still in the "brainstorming" phase until I can clear some stuff of my workbench.

It's basically a round shadow box/cabinet with doors made to resemble the viewport on a tie fighter.

Saber coffee table sounds cool. My wife feels the same way about props in the living room. Personally I don't see the problem.... maybe I'm missing something. :confused

I assume your concerned about the wood scratching/damaging the sabers where they make contact with the supports?

You could wrap the wood cradles with the same blue material as your backing, or use it to line the portions where the sabers rest.

Here's mine that I made. It's really basic as far as it's just screwed together, no fancy tongue and groove or anything. I would get LED lights though instead of halogen because it gets a tad toasty if you leave it on. Here's the plan for it: http://rogue74.nt3.npsis.com/collect/shelfplan.jpg
