Walking Dead Sheriff Uniform

Not sure what rub and buff is. But if I go that route use a spray clear coat? And spray paint won't stick to it?? Either way there's no way fo moving parts to still work right? Thanks for the help. What do u think of the pistol?

This is Rub 'n Buff: Amazon.com: AMACO Rub 'n Buff Wax Metallic Finish, Silver Leaf, 0.05-Fluid Ounce: Arts, Crafts & Sewing

I recommend using a thinning agent to help brush it onto the gun. You may want to test it on something else since you've not used it before. RnB gives a better metallic finish than most acrylics or sprays, from what I've seen. But it will smear off if it is not clear coated. The moving parts may still work, but as they move they are likely to wear down the paint. That will be an issue no matter what painting technique you use. The pistol looks great! It's just a lot more effort and upkeep than I'd want to have to deal with :).

And on the ebay badges... while there are enough differences that I can see that it is not a direct recast/copy of mine, it is clear to me that they've used my badges as reference for their own creation. I'm not really sure how I feel about that... but that's the way the cookie crumbles, I suppose.

Hello All,
Not sure if I'm new here lol. I can't figure out if this is the same prop forum I used to come to in the early 2000's when lightsabres were all the rage (graflex, heiland and BB&B salt shakers LMAO) Anyway, LOVE this thread trying to get a Rick Grimes costume together for halloween and any help would be appreciated. Going in my big thing was the Python. The wife won't allow me a real one and man I LOVE that gun so this is the closest I can get I guess, lol.
So after going through the thread and branching out from there I decided on this:

Is that metal or plastic? How much does it run?

I'm not familiar with the badges you made. The seller on Ebay told me he was lucky enough to be able to find the source for these particular badges and bought most of the stock. He also said they were selling fast. If you have the means to make more (and since the licensing hasn't finalized with Gentle Giant), it might be a great moneymaking opportunity for you. :thumbsup

I found a great gun for all the European/non US walking dead sheriffs. If only I could get one sent stateside.

ASG Zastava R357

Depends on your hat size. Ricks are longer (you can tell from season two when carl starts to wear the hat) I would go for the longer version personally because mine from Quarter Master are a little too short on my giant sized head hat.

my hat size is 7 5/8 (61cm)

29"= (73.66cm)
31" = (78.74cm)

If that's the one from Amazon, you can't unscrew the grips... that screw is molded in for looks. it might be possible to remove them somehow, but it would take some work to get wood grips on it, I suspect...
