I guess that's why somebody posted that it was an actual prop from the movies saying that they used those miniatures because they couldn't do it in CG. Obviously the guy never heard of stop motion animation before.

That's pretty cool. Like the jerking of the legs as they move - makes it look more realistic than if things were completely smooth.
