Vote for your favourite movie of 2012 and list it among your top 5 or top 10 movies. Choose one movie from the above poll to cast your vote.

Movies in the poll are listed in release date order and we have listed way too many of them (65 to be precise) just to act as a refresher for some of the major movies released during the entire year, but there are many more studio and independent films missing from the list.

There is also another thread posted (little early back in November) discussing favourite movies of 2012.

My Top Favourite Movies of 2012
I managed to watch only about 24 movies of 2012 and I saw 18 of them in the theatres. Lincoln, Zero Dark Thirty and Django Unchained are yet to be released in India and I've yet to watch Dredd.

The Avengers remains my #1 favourite movie of the year. It was entertaining and the most fun I had at the theatres in 2012. And even after watching it four times at the theatres, for me the movie still holds up.

1. The Avengers
2. Looper
3. Moonrise Kingdom
4. Argo
5. Life of Pi

Honorable Mention (in release date order): The Raid: Redemption, The Cabin in the Woods, End of Watch, Cloud Atlas, Skyfall, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

This list just shows me how many films I haven't seen this year (although there's a number on there I don't want to see)
For me it came down to Brave and The Hobbit, with Brave nearly winning due to The Hobbit being a little long and me having a VERY full bladder by the end.

Honourable mention to John Carter. I liked it, even if Disney didn't. In fact it made me want to go read the books.

Of the ones I saw Skyfall was heads & shoulders above the rest. Only one that got multiple viewings out of me. :)

avengers is my choice too. i have to admit i havent seen all of the movies from the later months, as they arent released here yet. so im missing some i want to see desperately.

The only film I've seen from that list is Skyfall, and hopefully I'll be seeing The Hobbit this week sometime, so I should probably abstain from voting, at least for now.

I picked the DKR even though I'm aware it had its faults. Avengers I just found boring until the last 45 mins. Snow white and the huntsman would of been my second film ever I would of walked out of had my wife not wanted to watch it all. (The first was spiderman 3).

Avengers. It's not only an all around great movie to watch, but the way the studios handled it is, dare I say it, inspiring. They let Joss Whedon, a man who's only directed one film up to this point (which sadly bombed) have the reigns to the biggest film Marvel has produced yet. And it actually worked! Take THAT Paramount for thinking they could just throw Stuart Baird in Star Trek Nemesis and assume it will be an instant hit. We got folks who actually give a crap about the source material.

Well, if I'm understanding Vivek's thread "guidelines" correctly, out of the list of films that appear in the initial post (& I didn't see all of them), here is my top 10 list:

1. The Avengers
2. The Dark Knight Rises
3. Dredd
4. Looper
5. Total Recall
6. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
7. Prometheus
8. Men in Black 3
9. John Carter
10. The Bourne Legacy
