Voice Recorder - **HELP NEEDED**

OK,

I'm looking for some voice recorders that I can record multiple phrases on and play them back using the same button. I'm going to be using these for inside an action figure.

I've done the usual Google and 'bay searches but the only thing close to being usable and affordable in bulk are those little memory reminders and they only record one thing up to 20 seconds.

I know that most action figures have custom PCB's and sound files programmed onto a chip, but I'm just not set up for that right now. But if anyone is - don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks,
-Kyle

Budget is going to play a huge part in what is available, so is size requirements...

With that said circuits built around the isd chipcorder are pretty budget minded... Hit up some of the electronic kits companies as most of them offer basic isd chipcorder kits...

If you are interested in a custom design I would be able to help with that as well, but again budget is going to play a big part...

I looked into the chipcorders and from what I've been reading, they can't do what I need. They can only play continuous start to finish or loop.

What I need is something that I -

Press the button > Plays phrase #1
Press the button again > Plays phrase #2
Press the button again > Plays phrase #3
Press the button again > Plays phrase #4
Press the button again > Back to the beginning

I already replied to your PM before I read this, so I will answer this here, yes this is possible and as you said you probably won't find an over the counter kit that performs that way, at least not with modifications, this leaves you with having to resort to a custom job and increased cost... It's still very doable, it just revolves around whether it's in the budget...

I remember buying one of those "reminder" recorders at Target years and years ago, it worked exactly like the description above.

You can use an ISD chip to play out individual phrases. I have done this plenty. You just need a circuit to support that feature.
