VM02 Restoration Complete....:)

I have finished the restoration on the Damaged VM02 that I bought here a little while ago......

That looks really nice, a nice tribute to VM....I hesitate to mention this but the inside of the nose should be a silver or off-silver rather than gunmetal color.

I believe it's the same metallic gray as that used on the facemask. There was a point where the screenused ANH was repainted, and at that point it the inside nose paint may have become silver.

Depending on the lighting, even the same metallic gray can catch enough light to look silver, depending on the light source direction. Heck, even the black paint picks up some reflection to where people had thought the reflections were metallic grey.

I think the nose color warrants further study. As Mac points out the helmet was repainted--arguably the helmet was re-touched constantly during production. While there are shots that suggest the color was gunmetal I'm not completely sold on the idea yet.

From a perspective of personal taste I like the look of the silver over gunmetal--as obviously did the production team as it quickly became the definitive color anyway.
