So my girlfriend is a Lucy fanatic, and her favorite episode happens to be "Lucy Does a TV Commercial". Which is of course is the vitameatavegamin episode. I thought a bottle of it would make a cool christmas gift.
Except there's almost no reference of it. Working off a screen cap from the DVD:
Which shows the shape of the bottle in the background, as well as their illustration of it on the poster. Which happens to differ from this photo I found online at www.lucylibrary.com:
I think it might be blown up from a promotional still, but it shows some additional detail that the poster doesn't.
Based on those two photo's, and a couple times watching the episode through, I came up with this idealized version of the label.
The bottle is Canadian Club whiskey. It's just about the perfect shape, though I think it might be a bit smaller than the prop from the show.
I matched the logo typeface to Franklin Gothic, but I couldn't track down the lower face, which makes me think it might be hand drawn. I chose to use Franklin Gothic for the entire label.
The rest (especially the colors) is just my best educated guessing.
And speaking of, here's my completely made up label for the back, which includes a slight rewording of my monologue from the episode.
And to top it all off, here's a little presentation box I made for it.
Any coments or criticisms would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone has anymore reference on the label... it's way too late now. But I'd love to see it for any future revisions I might do.
Anyways, let me know what you guys think!
Jon
