Viper MkII ( Moebius Super deformed ) WIP

Just wanted to share a bit of fun I'm having as a break from more serious builds. This is the Moebius MkII Viper with a twist.

Neato box art.

It builds really quickly and you can be ready to paint in a couple of hours.

I did modify the base with some magnets to allow for easy removal of the Viper to aid painting.

Then it was quickly onto the fun bits, Painting!

Here is where I'm at now;

Some close ups of the patina I'm working to, most of which gets washed out when you put it under lights to take pictures.

A very enjoyable distraction from the big mean world outside.

The patina is looking quite good. Will the canopy frame be getting the same treatment?

Yes, the canopy will get a full treatment. I have left it as a separate part as it fits very well and will be much easier to paint all by itself. The plan is for a painted reflection but as I haven't done one before I'm going to practice quite a bit before I commit to paint.

I thought I'd add an earlier pic which shows how the base looks in black paint.

Progress;

Most of this morning spent painting the wings.

And the rest of the afternoon working on the rear stripe.

Hopefully I can get the other side to match.
