Viper MK7

Hi ya Frank, the previous page has some pictures of the New MK VII. The differences may require a whole new build, but you guys are the experts.

The differences that I can see are:
1. A whole new nose....it's wider and more angular
2. New lower intakes
3. The side intakes next to the canopy are more pronounced and angular and seem to have a different shape as they taper back over the engines.
4. The wing LERX's are shorter and more rounded
5. The wing guns now sit on their "sides" compaired to the original MK VII's
6. Different paneling. In the finale when Apollo breaks off to investigate the "bogey" you can get a good look at the new paneling....more angles like what an F-22 has.
7. Not sure but the canopy "seems" to be bigger and more rounded....but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Chris

Edit: Here are the photo's that I was referencing. The old links didn't work anymore.

For what it's worth, I like the original MkVII. I'll be parting with my money for a kit, either way. But, I know a lot of time and energy has already been spent on the original version. And, I think what you've got is outstanding.

Oh, I love both versions....I'm a big MKVII fan, I will definately get their kit, I'd just love to see the new version too. :)

Ohh.... You hit my bad conscience. I did hit the wall with the patterns and felt like do something else. But now that the X-wing fuselage is completed I will pick up this MK7 again. The landing gear is currently in Franks garage for molding, but for both of us real life has interfered in our common project.
I hate when that happens....

How is this project coming along? The X-wing thread makes me wonder if this pattern is done.

Anybody heard anything about this?

Indeed! :D

I know currently the master pieces are in Richard Long's hands (REL) for his precise scribing techniques. As I understand it from Richard, he is close to being finished with them, at which time the pieces will go back to Frank for any other upgrades and casting. I believe Richard is also assisting with the making of the 'buck' for the clear canopy shape. ONE reason it has been taking so long is that it is an 'assisting' project for Richard.... and his current clientele (like myself and Jim Key) tend to be a bit demanding of his time. So I suppose I will take partial blame for this awesome FM Model Company kit taking so long during it's final phase. :$ For that... I apologize. But at least now there is somebody to blame. ;) LOLOLOL

Thanks for the update Kurt. I also can now see that not only are you slowing the production of my E-E from REL, you are also keeping me from getting my grimy hands on a Viper MK-7....:lol

Yep.

I wish SOME PEOPLE would leave Rich alone!!!!!!!!!!

Rich.
I NEED THE VIPER!

Just a small update, most of the ship is now in rubber. I need to do some adjustments on the main wings, but the rest is going according to plan.

My best guess will be that we are ready to take orders by the end of January early Feb.
.
We will let you know, when we are ready, so there's no need for PM us.

Here it is!
