Video of the reeeealy big TOS Enterprise model to be released soon.

Cool. It will be built.

Not sure about the open shuttle bay though, I think for the TOS big E I'll build mine closed.

Cool video. And here are a few still pics for you.

Looks great, I really like the shuttle bay. Almost makes me sad I sprang for the MR version. Then I look at my closet full of unbuilt models!

Thanks for posting the video! I like the shuttle bay. Not sure I'll show the bridge thru the clear dome or not.

Still in the process of finalizing the mold details so no release date yet (see the TOS 1/350 scale thread)
Cost depends on what you want.
There is a pre-order DX version then the standard store version.
Light kit is separate but it will be plug and play ready.

Model by itself will be over $100.

Looks great! The one thing I noticed was the fan domes weren't spining.

As for the recessed grid details, I hear they'll either refine them as much as possible, or remove them all together. Either is fine by me.

The bridge inside was not facing the proper direction either.

Nice to see this is in the the works though.

Now we need the Reliant in 350th!

They just had the motor switch turned off. The motors are kinda noisy and they're looking into a way to quiet them down, but they had me put the motors on a separate switch so they didn't have to run all the time. But yes, the fans will spin.

The bridge has the option of being put in two ways. I put it in with the screen foremost because to me it looked more natural. That's one of those things where you can't make the set fit the model the way they should.

Here, here! Someone who read the 1701 Club update or actually has helped with the design and construction of the model! It's amazing to me how many people accept the Franz Joseph interpretation of the TOS bridge orientation as absolute canon! It's a subjective interpretation and this is why Round 2 has given the builder the option of orienting the bridge forward or with the 36 degree offset.

Excellent paint work, eimb1999. I'll be picking your brain when I get my sprues!

Anytime dude! But I think you won't have to. The instructions and paint guides for this kit will be unparalleled as well as the kit itself. You've seen the finished model (which I did in a rush so there are flaws! I had a lot of paint problems thanks to gov't regulations) but the kit itself will be remarkably comprehensive. In my opinion, this kit will be by far the most accurate (every bit of the exterior was produiced from precise measurements taken directly off the 11 foot miniature) and the most complete (including accessory packs) Sci Fi model kit that's ever been produced, hands down. This kit will set a new standard of proportional accuracy. The "rivet counters" who say "That shape is wrong" will themselves be wrong because it's 100% guaranteed. Even the colours were very carefully researched by Gary Kerr. It's even going to be much better than what you see here, as the model I built as shown on this thread was made from test shots that still needed a bit of factory work done to them. You'll find out a lot more as time goes on. For example, there were some tiny parts I deliberately left off because I was rushed to get it done in time or because they were too fragile to ship for the handling the model would endure at a trade show.

Enjoy! It'll be fun watching the info from Wonderfest flood in, as I'm sure that there are better pix taken than the ones shown so far.
