Very accurate hocus pocus spell book replica

I have been working for over three years gather reference photos, working with a 3D designer, and tweaking the design to perfection. After finally being happy with the final design, I have just recently started printing this best of a book! It has been broken down into the front, back, spine, corner snakes (all are different and accurate), spine snakes(both are also different), and the clamp which are in three pieces.

I will be printing, prepping for mold, and casting out of silicon. I will be designing a static and animatronic version. This is an absolute dream prop for my collection and may do a very limited run at a later date depending on the work load of this one. I just wanted to document the build now that I am finally beginning the building process.

This is the current progress and the back cover is printing now. Enjoy and can’t wait to have the final product!

Ok ladies and gents, first thank you for all the messages and interest in this build. I have had an overwhelming amount of individuals interested in a book. I will not do a run until I have a solid product and have the process down.

So onto the update: The book base is completed, next I’ll conduct some body work, prime and prepare all parts for mold! I have to also print the long snakes for the front and back. Getting closer.

Finally after over two weeks of printing all pieces are completed. Now after work I will start body work, priming and prepping for all parts to get a mold.

Sorry I havent updated this post in some time but this is the almost finished product. I have to finish threads on the back and sides. I just finished the mold and am getting a custom bound book to wrap in silicon for a fully animatronic version. I believe this is the most accurate replica made to date. love the way it turned out!

I am finally “finished” with the static version. I will make a replica of the stand from the movie here soon as well. It’s nice to finally have all three pieces together in one photo, the book, candle and lighter. It’s been a long time coming, and next is the animatronic version!

I have 25 total from the movie being added to this book. I used a book from the early 1900s to create my book. I will be gluing about an inch of pages to hide electronics and then begin the actual pages so that it can stay open. And yes I have been working on this project perfecting the details and working with will sandell the original prop master for three years. I have finally made a product worth showing. Most people that have created this have not done it justice.

The book is incredible! You had said you might do a limited run of the, I would be very interested in one. Or maybe the part. I unfortunately have no talent for sculptin. This book has been a dream of mine since seeing he movie in 1993.

Thank you! I may do a small run but looking at selling static pieces for $1500 probably. And may only make 5 animatronic versions. Those will be much more
