we won't be able to commit to pricing for the tiers until we have everything fully quoted, but we DO expect the rose gold limiteds to be about $100-150 more than the standard ones based on our plating quotes.

So rather than continuing to hijack Valor's thread here: ROS *Spoiler* Saber design

I have made sufficient progress to start putting feelers out to gauge interest in a hilt run for this saber.

many thanks to Valor for getting us a good and healthy start.

having procured Valor's initial model, I have been studiously making adjustments and converting the model to a machinable set of structures for an FX based saber run.

In the same vein as the "MoM of all Heroes" hilt, BRRogers and I are teaming up with Lewis (Malaki Skywalker) from 7 Chambers to look at producing this hilt.

based on a rough cut the internal cavity would be 1.15" for most of the cavity for electronics components (and incidentally chassis modules exist at this size). These are all subject to change however as we continue design.

we would be looking to machine this from 7075 just like the "MoM of All Heroes" and we would be adding the coppery accents using natural copper and a limited set with that copper rose gold plated. Based on our research it also appears that the flatter parts of the grip fins that are not ridged actually look to be pearl like iridescent and as such we're looking at doing mother of pearl inlay for these pieces. This all supports the saber of a princess and royalty.

more details to follow as we work out design and logistics and timing.

caveat: we know some other are also racing to produce this design, so this will be a competitive market however we think with the precious material elements as well as BRRogers' and my obsession for detail, we think we will have a compelling offering.

so now the for rub. We need to understand what sort of demand there might be for such a run, so if you have interest, please chime in here! This will help drive our efforts.

I am still in the final stages of accuracy tuning and then it will be going to fabrication. We expect the Leia and V2 to both hit approximately the same time and I will confess work has had me very busy and I've been delayed in final cleanup of the leia model.

I can certainly share the current state however:

To bounce off of that. We are moving forward with trialing a long term agreement with a UK machinist. Beginning with prototype sampling of the V2 to benchmark their quality of fabrication.

Chinese manufacturing delays of every variety have been incredibly woeful and plagued us since we began getting quotes for the Hero- pandemic aside. Even with the recent uptick in unsanctioned file sharing and lightsaber re-casting we’re making this move to increase reliability and open transparency as it allows our production coordinator (Lewis) to visit directly and check progress beyond keeping our product and files out of recasting hands.

It’s taking a little longer and it costs a bit more on the front end for us, but by the time we’ve eliminate shipping and import fees it winds up being a very similar cost factor for final delivery.

I need to do another cleanup pass but will do that soon about the time the model is complete and off to fab. I'm about 90% done with minor tuning so not much longer guys. Thanks for being patient.

I know you all are impatient. I have my reasons for taking my time on this hilt. This one is going to be a memorial run and I have a lot of personal stake in seeing this one as perfect as I can; you all have come to know and love that about Veracity. We want it done right, not fast.

I may be even admittedly OVER agonizing on every detail and while I don't claim to have the origin sources or any other inside Intel, I can say THIS hilt has been something I have poured my literal heart and soul into.

To that End, yes. I want to see this done RIGHT. I'd rather spend a LONG time making this absolutely as perfect as I am able and bring every bit of knowledge and skill I have to bear on this design. For ME this is more than a run. It's a memorial.
