Thanks guys!
Here's a pic for this page of everything mocked together again. I do have the gold wire that still needs to be "soldered" to the copper wired pieces, which I'll be doing sometime this week.
I also tried out some lighting I had in storage on an unpainted base, but it got a bit hot, so I think I'll stick with LEDs.
Id buy a kit of this. Its the only one so far (that Ive seen) that has got the back part looking right. Id probably replace the tube with an aluminum one though.
Thanks again guys!
I actually found the leds I had that were already wired up to use with a 12v transformer.
These LEDs are super bright white and the best part is, no need for me to solder anything!
Here are some pics showing how bright they are.
The left pic shows it in the dark (well at least with the living room lights turned off).
The right pic is with FLASH from the camera.
A close up pic in my brightly lit kitchen:
Now that I got the lights out of the way, I just need to do the gold wire and put everything together in the case.
Good catch, yeah, that's been bugging me and have been meaning to fix it.
It's only a small move to the right, but I'll fix it as well as making the height of the font a bit smaller as well.
By the way, the base of the middle rings is opaque at the moment, I'll do another in clear so the light can shine through the rings.
I didn't think it made a difference until I took the new pics.
I think we need to start a WTB Thread in the Junkyard to give Vash a little incentive :love :lol
This would ... well will be the coolest Christmas present for my 8 yr. He likes to sleep with a nightlight and this would be by far the coolest nightlight ever!
