Vader's Height From Dave Prowse

I know this was probably brought up more than once in the past, but I thought I'd make this thread for those of you who don't know.

While getting Dave's autograph yesterday, I told him that friends of mine were making a Darth Vader mannequin as he appeared in ANH, and asked him how tall it should be made. He simply answered, "Well, with the boots and helmet on, I was exactly 7ft. tall."

So there you have it. He was sober and coherent, and I don't think he'd lie about it. Make your Vader ANH mannequins 7ft. tall, and you're good.

I dont think he know... Why whould he bother to know in the movie?

Dave also used to argue that the vader helmet was all black in the OT films.
He means well but has no idea.
Set your vader mannequins for 6'8" - 6'9" for an accurate looking display.

I have to go with GINO for this one. I'm 6'6" out of costume. With the Helmet and boots on, I top about 6'9" 6'10". A 7" Mannakin would look.. wrong for Vader.

Yeah, a couple years back he told me 7.2...of which I knew was crap, but so not to create an argument, I just smiled and said thank you, then took the poster back before he signed it.

So... you say it should be 6'8" - 6'9" with all the costume on ?? (with helmet and boots) ?? or just the mannequin from toe to head (and then the costume on that ? ).

I have heard that it should be 2.10 meters (about 6'11") with the costume ... may that be wrong ???

And if you intend to wear it an are 5.10 then it whould look wrong anyway. But i agree go for a 6.8 tall from toes to top of head then add the other parts.

I wouldn't say that i am 5'11 and in vader i stood about 6'5 with the right boots on. I am now gearing up to have a custom made set of boots to have the right look with out looking like i stole a set of boots from Kiss.:lol

You decided NOT to let him autograph your Vader poster just because his memory on the subject has faded with age? :lol

Honestly, it was just the last straw. He was being kind of a jerk to begin with, Impatient and acted as if he had better things to do. When I asked him about his height, he sighed, rolled his eyes and said 7.2. I guess I was just put out and decided I didn't want his autograph after all. :unsure
