Vader ESB cape question

I have a cape from Lucas Alvarez. The collar is stitched together at the back so I can't get the chain to go through. I can't think of any other way to attach the chain without making a hole through the collar. Plus I'm not sure how to make the hole without going through the collar.

This is a temporary fix until after Halloween. I just don't want it to fall off while I'm wearing it.

Is it the ANH version or ESB and ROTJ. I have ROTJ and my seamstress used a dress hook. She sewed the clasp side to one collar end and the hook onto the end of the chain link.

I hope this is helpful.

It's an ESB and there are no hooks like that. I have the chain you have but it came with a metal chain. I want it to be screen accurate eventually, but need something quick for now. I think the only way is to make a hole so the chain can go all the way around the neck.

Couldn't you just take it to a local seamstress/sewing shop and have them add two small hooks?

It's a small job and would save you cutting a hole in your cape.

The dress hook is what you need, a seamstress should have them or you can get them at fabric stores like or places like Hobby Lobby. Its easy to sew onto the collar so the chain can be secured.

I have the same cape. I cut the crappy metal chain off leave the first link that is sewn into the collar. Then I bent it enough to get the plastic chain through and closed it. It's worked great.

I guess I'll have to sew a hook on then. I was trying to avoid that. I thought cutting a hole would be easier. Oh well. Thanks for the help.
