Vacuum Forming Supplies?

Hey guys, so I've been in the process of working on a Props and Costumes business and I was wondering if anyone knew a good supplier for Vacuum forming supplies for armour kits and visors? I'm interested in ABS sheets but all I can find are these weird texture sheets. And I'm no sure what clear plastic to use for the visors. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know about Canada but I'm sure someone will be able to direct you.

It would be pretty expensive to ship large sheets or even sections, compared with finding a local company. I have four or five plastic suppliers in my area alone. Have you tried looking up something in your region?

I've tried everything. Some suppliers have weird textured sheets, others have sheets that are way to thin. I'm trying to look for sheets that are 24x24" or bigger and have a thickness of 0.93.

I guess I should have asked a couple weeks ago but what are the suppliers in your area?

I live in Northern California and this is the place I use, they are knowledgeable and very friendly...

Thanks! One of my problems is that I have been having a hard time finding ABS sheets that smooth on both sides and a large enough.

Farco and American Plastic Supply are the two I've bought from. There are more but I'd have to google them.

Not sure where in Canada you are but check out Sabic they have distributors throughout Canada and are one of the world's largest manufacturers. I have yet to find a comany who can get me a better price on anything I need.

Thanks! Would you say 3mm High Impact Styrene is good for forming armour?

Yes 3mm would make a very SOLID armor. ABS would make a more shiny armor but HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) is easy to work with. I just completed a project and went with the 0.093" for a project I just completed to pick up more "detail"

Thanks! How durable would you say HIPS is? Like could you sit down or perhaps lie down in armour? Or if it fell, could it break easily? Thanks!
