Vacuform question

Hello! I've always wanted to try vacuforming but I never had the resources to do so in the past. However I think now the tools and materials to make my own table are now more accessible. Since I'm a noob at this I have a few questions :)

1. Will clay be able to withstand the heat and pressure of the process? If yes, what type of clay would be best for a project? Will regular modeling clay do?

2. What type of plastic is used for vacuforming?

Thank you for your help!

Hi, to answer your questions

No, clay will not work. you need to make your bucs out of wood, plaster or metal. Clay will not withstand the heat and you will end up with a gooey mess

For vacforming you can use styrene or ABS plastics, depending on the amount of detail you want in your pieces and cost factors. It comes in different guages.

Do a google search on vacuforming, lots of info out there
