v visitors props

I was planning to put together a visitor uniform a couple of year back, but was never able to find red coveralls (yeah, I know, they were more of a rust colour)...so I kind of abandoned it. Every now and then I look around for them, with no luck.

Do ya know what the shocktrooper helmet is based off?

Mark jacobs makes a pair of 'close' v sunglasses but they are over 100-(too much $ for only 'close')

:D
The helmet seems to be Made using, a Normal construction workers safety helmet,
With added parts..

The helmet kit pictured is from a guy in spain that makes them from fibreglass - problem being that he didn't use much fibreglass, just gel coat.
I got one off him about 4 years ago and it was shattered when I got it, he wanted €35 to replace the broken part.
Didn't deal with him after that
Since then my friend Ian has started (makes the TIE Piot helmet) making shocktrooper and security helmets.
These are spot on and don't have the wierd texture on the visor like all the others seem to.

The shocktrooper photos are from a camera phone - sorry for the quality...

i have a cast from a visitors ship key, looks linda crappy but supossedly cast from a real one, intend to draw a model in 3D at some stage and machine a crisp one.

I loved V when I was younger, and I think the last I saw any of it was almost 5 years ago on Sci-Fi channel. I've been wanting to rent the box set, but I'm afraid that it wouldn't live up to the memories. It would be cool to see some more props from it turn up though.

I believe they are in the process of trying to get the green light from the studio to bankroll a new series.

I've run across some V prop money on ebay twice in the the last couple of months.

Anyways, when the V series first aired a friend of mines alcoholic dad happened to turn on the tv during a news broadcast scene announcing that the Rio Grande Valley (where we lived in south Texas) was under attack by aliens. Of course he had just come home totally wasted an he thought he was watching the real news.... Ha ha ha.....

I did an all new sculpt of the visitor pistol last year. Kits can be acquired from Matsuo. I believe he is planning a run later sometime in the future but they can be special ordered.
[image]http://Malbona.smugmug.com/photos/76675692-M.jpg[/image] A pic of the kit builtup.[image]http://Malbona.smugmug.com/photos/76675696-M.jpg[/image] [image]http://Malbona.smugmug.com/photos/76675703-M.jpg[/image] Pics of the kit with minimal cleanup unpainted.

Let me see what all I have seen V related over the years replica wise:

Visitor Shocktrooper Helmet kit style on ebay have seen another style I believe
Visitor Gold Trooper Helmet have seen on ebay in the last few years
Visitor pistol replica both styles (Joseph Kerzeman style had metal connector piece)
Visitor rifle two different replicas one Joseph Kerezman the other ebay seller capford1
Visitor Mask (less than 50 made I believe)
Sunglasses someone was making replicas of these in the last year and selling on ebay
18 inch skyfigher replica
small scale skyfighter replica kit
Hats none I see with correct size patch
I have also seen a custom Diana style costume
Shocktrooper, V technician style costumes were made long ago

Keep in mind this is what I have seen in the past, Might be tougher to find the replicas than the screen used versions presently on some things.

Back Lot Props and Costumes has some orignal "V" costume pieces;

I found them difficult to deal with, non-responsive and over priced without any leway for haggle.

Well, I experienced just the opposite.

No problem with getting someone on the phone to talk to or a response via e-mail. And as for over-priced, well, that is all relative. Who else has original "V" items available? And as for haggling, did you "establish" yourself as a customer before you started asking for "discounts"?

well i was told one price for a full outfit when they had a booth at a chicago halloween convention and was told that price would be good for online orders since they didn't have much product with them at the show, once i contacted them via email one of the few responses I got back from them was that the price had gone through the roof, and they wouldn't honor the show prices.

Well..............I'm sorry to hear that you had that experience. Several other collectors that I know have had positive experiences with them. Maybe you should give them another try?

I just re-found my Papillon Escapes from about 20 years ago, so I thought I'd post some pics. :)
