Hey guys....

Ive decided to take on the USS Defiant. :love

I've just about downloaded every pic available online. Does anyone know what the dimensions are? Or at least where I can find them? I've been searching everywhere for a Star Wars Chronicles/indiana Jones to star wars book for STAR TREK Models, but sadly cant find any info. :cry Is or was there anything published?

Thanks.

If your looking for the measurements of the studio model then they are listed on the site studioscalemodeler.com i dont have them in front of me but they are in the studio scale star trek section of the discussion forum.

Hope that helps

Wasn't this ship part of the Christie's auction last year? If so, and it was one of the ones on display/tour before the sale, there is a chance that there are some good photos of it on the net.

As for books, you are correct in that there never has been a Chronicles-type book for any of the TREK universe ships. (Chalk that up the nearsightedness of Paramount and the fact that there is no one in charge of that franchise who gets it.) The closest thing there is is a Japanese book called "Star Trek Mechanics (Official Guide 4)". This mook includes shots of most of the miniatures from the series up to VOYAGER. While not as detailed as the Chronicles book, the Defiant is mentioned in there and there is something like a dozen photos. Nothing relevatory, but a start. I got mine from a friend who went to Japan a number of years ago, but you could still try the usual places if you want a copy. I reccommend it (probably not worth more than....say, $50, but you decide).

AHHHHH...my favorite ship. :D
Looking forward to seeing some pics of the progress.
I need one of these in 1:350 scale to go with my PL Enterprise.

The studio model USS Defiant 37" long X 27" wide measurements taken at the Christies auction.
They used several Defiant models in many sizes but the main filming unit and the one used in the opening credits is 37" long X 27" wide this model was also used in the first epsisode when the Defiant was first introduced.

The Deep Space Nine Technical Manual would be the book you may be looking for, theres a whole section just on the Defiant.

SWEET.

You guys are awesome.

By the way...anyone knows where I can get hold of the "Star Trek Mechanics" book?

Edward
