Update - batman returns suit hybrid part 2

Hello everyone! I am still pretty new here and I still consider myself new to the whole costume making thing so please bear that in mind with my posts

ok so someof you guys have been fantastic to me on here supporting me with advice on how to make my returns suit. also had a great guy who REALLY helped me Keaton Knight, who has provided measurements from his screen accurate returns uit.. so.. big thank you to you all.

please feel free to comment/remark on this thread - I can use all the help I can get.

Ok so this weekeend I commited to getting the cape built.

I googled up "pleather black leather " and found a shop called Minerva Crafct Centre in Lancashire. I got to say I was SO impressed with these guys, I spoke to a lady on the ophone and she helped me massively with my order of the pleather - I just couldnt get my head around the idea of the measurements cramming 8 pannels into 5 yards of the stuff. lol.

Anyway - big shout out to these guys.. £40 quid got me 5 yards of the stuff and although it was advertised as 56 inch wise it was bigger on top of that i got slightly more than 5 yards too. I cant recommend this company enough. Probably the best thing was when I called her up on the phone and when I told the sales lady what I was doing she was like "LOVE it" :-0 .. alwasy nice to be supported like that lol.



ok so...I ordered the material on the friday morning and I got it sat mornng ( I still dont know how I got it so quickly but was v impressed by that) - I managed to get the pannels out of the material.. I thought I was goingto only be able to get 6 from it at first but I worked out I could get exactly 3 pannels per yard and half ( I am 6ft so my pannels were 62" length wise as opposed to the standard 55" most use .

I am about to stich these together ( and stiching is not my good point so I need to take my time) and I will show the results to you all soon. If anyone can help me on how to do the neck part of the cape and the ties it would be great. I really need help on that.

I also heard that the cape is best use "eye and hook" style fastening to my EVA Foam armour? Again I got no idea on how to even begin on this but I have nopt rsearched it yet.

The shape of the cape is great! Definitely take your time on the sewing. Thankfully though, it is mostly just straight lines that you will be stitching. The additions to your boots look great as well.

Unfortunately, I have no suggestions on how to handle the cape, but your options are probably going to vary depending on how heavy the cape is.

Ah Dude - Thank you so much - I cant tell you what that means to me. I never ever done anything like this, the only thing I did was make a Papa Erimitus outfit (from a band called Ghost BC) and that was it. so it means alsot to get peoples honest opinions. Ill do what you said and stich it very carefully.

I been thinking to use a collar like mandarin style then reinforce it (not sure if that makes sense but ill show you by the end of this weekend when its complete

Its Done!!!

Hello everyone! I wanted to shw you all the FINAL product! I been really quite on here, mostly been working through every night sewing and painting etc its been long hard road.. Im very new to all of this but I pixcked up lots of hints and tops along the way.. never made any kind of suit before or many props so its been a massive learning expierence.. anyway...here it is....ready for Halloween!

PS - I said its the final product.. I learnt alot of things along the way I might of changed if I had more time.. but those enhancements will be added later on.
