Upcoming Project(s): Robin (young justice) & The Black Mask

As a batman fan i was looking for a cool costume to make.
first i wanted to make a Nightwing costume.. But that was .. to plain..
So I chose Robin from the Young Justice cartoon.

Making the costume itself won't be hard. But finding the right fabrics and the right pattern to make the cape and belt.
I was thinking of using faux-leather (aka. pleather) for the entire suit (Body + cape)
Finding black & red isn't hard. But the yellow.. sheesh

Plus does any1 have an idea what boots i should use?

I'm hoping i can complete this project at the end of this year..

I'll keep you guys posted on how it goes along.

The second project: The Black Mask

For a halloweenparty i want to go as The Black Mask.
Does any1 know where i can get this mask? Or something that looks somewhat the same?

The skull mask looks like the "Fractured Skull Mask" you can buy through amazon.

I have used this mask for my Ghost Rider costume for years and it works well. The mask is white, so you would have to do some painting.

Thanks. And what is the best way to paint this? Cause i'm a novice in painting and prop making

Use a primer to prime the surface.
Then paint it black.
After that you may want to dry brush the higher parts of the mask with a dark grey.
Use ivory color for the teeth, and after they are dry add a wash of brown. This will help separate the teeth.

When you are done use a clear coat glossy, satin, or flat to seal the paint work so it won't chip off.
