ok guys and gals,
ive decided to stray from the replica builds and make something from my own head instead. so im going to use armor, anime and other sci-fi as an inspiration for a mixed set of heavy armor. since i used to do a lot of rpg's, mainly rifts and watch a ton of futuristic shows and movies. im going to mangle them all together into some sort of a construction that i will be happy with.
an hopefully get done for fanexpo in august.

so far i have the templates for the leg cut out and the basic plate armor design to work from.

i must admit... i like Tank's armor also ;). cant wait to see this completed. wouldn't it be funny if different people make up the entire team... its just... no one but us would know who they are :))

Re: unnamed armor project

well i just got one basic leg done last night. i have to figure out the layers or extras that is going to go on it. i need to make a bell housing for the boot next while im working on the belt/cod/waist plates

Re: unnamed armor project

Oh man, I didn't even remember captain power! That was such a cool show, I think :lol

Looking forward to your futuristic build :thumbsup

Re: unnamed armor project

im tearing apart an old hot tub and i found it has these nifty, yes i said nifty, cog like cover nuts that go on the jets. i was thinking of using them on joints if i have the right amount.
also i have an idea for the biceps and shoulders im going to draw up and put on here

Re: unnamed armor project

Heretics! Blasphemers! Captain Power was flippin' awesome!
I'm enjoying the results possible with the closed cell foam sheeting and mats.

If you come up short on nuts (...) don't rule out the possibility of casting more.

Re: unnamed armor project

i dont know anything about casting and would perfer to stay away from it.

Re: unnamed armor project

Yeah, that's Captain Power. (yeah, like I said before, I'm a child of the 1980s) :D

Re: unnamed armor project

I had to toys, comics (still have the first 3 of 4 issues) and the videos. I can't wait to see it.

Re: unnamed armor project

wes - im not making tank. im just using his armor for some ideas. mainly the chest and helmet

Re: unnamed armor project

the other leg is cut out and formed. assemble it today.
i also had a idea for the helmet from a pair of safety glass i found in my work shop.

Re: unnamed armor project

I'm with you. Tank had the coolest armor of all the Soldiers of the Future. Looking good so far.

Re: unnamed armor project

templates made for the biceps and forearms. now to start cutting out the torso and arms. then i can start working on the chest.

Re: unnamed armor project

arms are cut and moulded. maybe tonight if i have the time ill strap them. however i am running out of foam and funds. 2 pieces left...

I'd say go with some of those backpack clips from a fabric shop, then maybe run some elastic bands through the clips

Re: unnamed armor project

you mean the things you use to size the should straps? that would have been an awesome idea if i had not glued the **** out of it. however i will definitely keep that in mind for other pieces of it.

thanks azurial. great idea

Re: unnamed armor project

ok. so i got the base arms and chest done today. ill have to shave down a bit so that my arms can move a bit better. tomorrow im going to design the shoulders and attach the biceps to the body
