It looks like it has the same knurling round the collar as the phaser nozzle. I bet at least that top part was custom made.

Well I am 65 and a long time propmaker and I have never seen anything like it in any parts bin.

I think it was made by a machine shop either on the lot or by Wah Chang at Projects Unlimited.

Every replica I have seen has been custom made

To the best of my knowlege this was a custom piece. Although racprops is correct, the top was made from a metal file.

SD Studios did a near perfect replica several years ago.

I'd like to see someone do the "Arena" version accurately, none have come before that I've seen.

I made one of these in Metal Shop back in the late 80s in high school. I cant remember the name of the book I used for reference, but I remember it was a Star Trek Technical Manual (that may even be the name of it) that was around since the 70s if I remember right. All just turned out on a lathe and a mill from bar aluminum.
