Besides Dean Norris from Breaking Bad, I remember Britt Robertson from her show Life Unexpected.

Some more details about the show. Been reading about this show past several months now and it's good to finally see some footage. It's based on Stephen King's novel and comic writer Brian K. Vaughan will be the executive producer.

Synopsis: An invisible force field descends upon a small town in the northeastern part of the United States

Cast: Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, Jeff Fahey, Britt Robertson, Colin Ford, Aisha Hinds, Alexander Koch, Natalie Martinez

It was a good book. It'll be interesting to see how well they pull it off.

I think they should the the "Under the sea" song from the Little Mermaid as the theme. Maybe something like this...

Under the dome
under the dome
Better stay home
and try not to roam
Hey, who crushed my gnome?

We’re under the dome
Under the dome,
Lend me your comb
and some packing foam
Here under the dome!

Was the Simpsons movie a spoof on the book? I'll be for sure checking this out as King fan, but I'll still be thinking about the Springfield town being consumed in a giant dome. :lol

I don't know how this will play out as an ongoing, multi-season television show. I think it would've been better as a longer mini-series; 8, maybe 10 hours.

I agree! But remember Hogans Heroes was about American solders trapped at a Nazi camp pretty much every episode and that went on for six seasons. That was a comedy though...

Yeah, that's the thing... Under the Dome goes some REALLY dark places (even for King).
Not to mention that in the book, the dome was non-permeable which means no air or water exchanges.

Added spoiler tags. :)

Just watched the first episode.... not quite sure what to think. Some parts I loved, some parts I didn't. Definitely makes me think I need to reread the book. I feel like it is moving WAY WAY too fast and we are seeing instability in certain people way too early. If this were going to be a mini-series, I would understand, but from what I see, there are at least 13 episodes planned for this season (surely they can't push it into a second season) and with that in mind, I really don't like the pacing. I would have liked to see this first episode spend more time on the town and the major players and ONLY see the dome appear at the very last minute of the first episode. With that being said, I still enjoyed it and am very much looking forward to the rest of the story, although I am already wondering how the ending is going to be handled and how close they will stick to the book ending (which I thought was brilliant). All in all, just glad to see more Stephen King on the screen!!

Just watched it and enjoyed it. Haven't read the book (but I think I will now), but I agree with Art, it seems things are moving too quickly for a show that will hopefully run an entire season's worth, if not more.

Yeah, I assumed this whole episode would be character introductions and the dome introduced at the end, not like right way. That said, I'm excited! Its like watching a lower budget different version of Lost, with a character from Breaking Bad thrown in. Also I've never seen a cow chopped in half before like that.

Besides Jeff Fahey, there are more actors who were on Lost: Beth Broderick, Aisha Hinds, Dean Norris, Samantha Mathis, but as bonus Jolene Purdy was in an episode of Breaking Bad.

Glad I caught this last night. Not a bad premiere episode at all. I agree with the pacing comments, and so far I am not bothered by the changes from the book. Can't wait for the next episode.

I enjoyed the pilot and I am definitely hooked for now. I did not expect the dome to make an appearance during the opening minutes but I guess they wanted to get the attention of the audience pretty quickly; especially for those who end up changing channels if it isn't exciting right from the get go.

Stephen King in the original first look video (linked in the opening post) stated that it's a 13 week event, which means it's a mini series with only one season. And though I haven't read the novel, it does seem the pacing has been sped up to make room for all major characters to be established in the pilot.
