Uncharted Props

I beat the first uncharted a couple of days ago and decided to make some props based upon the game(my favorite game btw). So tomorrow Im gonna start making the Francis Drake Diary from the first game. Any tips on making the diary or other props you think I should make ,fire away.
 
For diary's I would spend some time over at COW in the Grail Diary section for inspiration also someone in the free paper props section is working on the diary from game 2.

*sigh* accursed low post count! I click the link and get no love. I'm assuming its in the paper-props section, as I can't view it.

Oh well, my complaining about it gets me one post closer to being able to view ;)
 
Sorry about that, I didn't realise they had restrictions on the paper props part... all of the images I have collected (along with a few progress shots of mine) are here http://s120.photobucket.com/albums/o176/d_jedi1/Uncharted/

I need to get myself a phurba dagger once this thing is complete.. I know a shop that used to sell one very similar to the one in Uncharted 2.


The first game is still an awesome game. I loved how they handled El Dorado and the creatures looking like the ones in "The Cave" was pretty cool too. The uncharted series carries the flavor of the original Indiana Jones films and does it very well.

Let me know if I can help. I work for Sony Computer Entertainment and my group made all the "Behind the Scenes" segments that are unlocked when you finish the game. My group also made the Phurba Dagger that we made for the Fortune Hunter edition. The pic is the wrong scale. I can get you a better pic of it.

any hi resolution pictures of the diary from Uncharted 1 or 2 would be a great help !!!!
I wanted to do the diary from part one, but I like what I have seen from part 2 too

Just finished the first game and am working through 2. Anyone do the oil lamp from the beginning of 2? All the little treasures you can find on the side are pretty awesome, too!

they aren't quite as good as I'd like, but I'm (slowly) working on it. If Naughty Dog would announce that they're planning to make the journal, I'd finish mine and buy one of theirs too.

anything related to the journal/phurba you can provide that wouldn't violate any contracts or whatever would be cool (I wouldn't ask anyone to jeopardize their job for me)

BTW has anyone noticed the scaling issues with Drake's journal? at the LARGEST it's 4" X 6", probably 3.5" X 5.5" yet EVERYTHING Drake puts in it magically re-scales to fit.
Makes replicating the prayer flag a difficult task lol

All I can do is ask. The folks at Naughty Dog are very protective of their property (and rightfully so). Are you just making one for you? You're not selling these, are you?
 
just one for me.. not making any others

If they don't want to then inform them that there is a market for these things :love I'd buy one!
 
Man, I'd forgotten about the ring being engraved.. I have a silver ring for my outfit but no engraving on it.
Still working on my Journal :lol I took some time off so I could play multiplayer.
 
@Garybarth - did you get a reply from the folks at Naughty Dog? I'd be very interested in whatever they'd be willing to share. I also couldn't dream of selling anything off.
 
You know what...? I have some old brown leather WW2 ammo pouches that look almost just like that. I'll see if I can dig them out and snap a few pics later today.
