I want to see "The Star Wars" with Leia's extended dialog in the Tantive 4 that I saw about 5 times before they started chopping it up.

I want it to be BR and 4k in one box. Original theatrical, AND the ability to select what scenes can be from which version... Including alternate and deleted scenes...
But that is asking for way too much... Even though most of us in this thread have easily speant over $100k on SW stuff in our lifetimes...
That would be way too much to ask of poor little Disney!

All I want out of ESB is the correct colors. No new Wampa or cloud city scenes and I'm good.
ROTJ needs a BR without "Jedi Rocks" and the removal of the PT Vader "NOooooooo!!!!"
ANH needs the most... I mean... STAR WARS.

I haven't bought any SW discs since the DVD release with "bonus" OOT. I love them, but they need an upgrade. The SE discs also make good coasters. If they weren't so rigid, I'd express my contempt properly, but alas I guess I'll stick to wiping with my Charmin.

You say it like it's a massive obstacle to overcome. It's not. When the studio wants to release the movies, it has to be via 20th Century Fox. It just means they get a cut. No rule is written in stone that subsidiaries of disney HAVE to go through disney and are forbidden from going outside.
Regardless, the 'obstacle' is paying Fox their cut. It's not like Fox is reportedly grandstanding for a gigantic cut. All the 'talk' is disney won't want to give them a dime. Well, why not? If the release were to make only 1M bucks and they split it same as LFL did with fox in the past - everyone wins. I'm not sure why it should be such a massive problem.
And just going off the linked article - if that is true, GL wouldn't be telling a friend the legal bs the 2 sides agreed to to make it happen. He'd just tell him it's happening. He's saying what a friend told him. He's not going to have the legalese to tell anyone.
Like I said earlier 'I heard it from a guy, who heard it from a guy...' type thing. I'll believe it when it actually is officially announced.

Maybe GL knows about it because they asked him if they wanted to take part in the new supplemental features for the release. Even directors will talk about cuts of a movie that they don't prefer in the supplemental features, including John Landis.

It doesn't matter; George Lucas still wins in the end. He owns, like, half of Disney's stock (the other half owned by the Jobs estate) so whether it's reincarnations of Star Wars or Avengers, that guy is still getting paid.

I'd rather have the SEs with the added scenes removed. That way the film would still be cleaned up, but you get to see it as it originally was.
