I wasn’t fully happy with the print details on these front parts in the ROTJ dl-44 scope so I reprinted them through Shapeways. These prints are in their “smooth fine detailed” material. Here you can see the differences between the two prints..

(Also updated some details on the front of the scope itself)

Sometimes these type of details can get lost when viewing a finished build. As I wait for a repaint to dry I threw on an unfinished rail and to my surprise its a great learning tool for those that want to see some build details. The mount wheels on the GK prop shouldn’t be centered to each other. Similarly with most of the OT props things seem to be just thrown together. You can see the gap between each wheel on the inside. The front is almost right up against the center part of the mount while the back wheel has a good sized space between them..

Hot damn!! I want to send you some of mine to stamp hehe…those look incredible! Nice work. Pics?? (Interested in the stamping templates/process)
Thanks Pedro! I think I already posted some pics but it’s basically using the stamps themselves to get the job done. I did create stenciles that very much help. Otherwise it’s damn near impossible to accomplish. It’s extremely difficult even with the placeholders to be honest. It took me 3 different tries to get them (jigs) “right” and I’ll probably tinker with the designs even more on some of them. Here is a couple pics though so u can get a better idea maybe. The real trick is finding the stamps themselves. Honestly I don’t think many exist to be found in the wild unfortunately.

Also I can make these jigs available to anyone who wants them. They have to be made in MJF though. It’s a very tough nylon that works great here..

I have a bunch more stencils I use to help with my builds. One for the bottom of the back of the Mauser (under the lock frame). I’ll post those once I get around to working on that part..

Here’s a stencil I created to help get the Stembridge greeblies in line as well to help keep it clean when epoxing them into place. For the greeblies I added a little peg in the back and I think the pictures tell the best story. If interested I can get these (Greeblies and/or stenciles) for anyone who’s interested. Just DM here anytime..

Haha! Sorry dude, I missed the explanation of the jigs (or templates if you prefer). You've got a lot of content in this thread! :D This is some ingenious stuff. I remember how hard it was to get the stamping even close to aligned when I did my DL-44, and had to file off and re-stamp at least 3 times. Good thinking with this! I have a similar jig that I made for drilling holes in my DG-29 barrel, basically like above (peg to fit the first hole, and a relative hole to drill the next, then move to the 2nd hole, etc). Thanks for sharing!! I may hit you up for those models at some point, but my 44's are currently shelved. :D

Pedro no worries! Ya this thread was a little more organized originally but now it’s a dumping grounds of everything I’m working. Also.. So many different greats threads here on RPF it’s hard to stay on top of them all. Hope ur well. Enjoy the weekend!

Here is a bunch of Pictures of this GK build I recently completed. It’s my version of a scratch build I guess but either way it’s always pretty cool to hold something like this for the first time. I believe I’ve fully recreated this SW chronicles /Solo promo picture’s blaster build here.

Bent scope, dented Compac saddle wheel, correct (or incorrect) weavers w/ different sized wheels, heatsink wanky fins, FH spacer, serial numbers, stamping and then some..

It’s also built on a base Denix with a major facelift..(y)
