I fact I've never heard of you.

Oh no!
You haven't heard of me!?:cry

To start off with I'm the almighty god of resin - apparently.

I didn't know I was supposed to have offerings.
Most likely I'm known for vacforming although I've been known to do a bit of everything - mould making is my chosen thing.

If you're lucky I'll show you mine and then you can show me yours - that's what this thread is about isn't it really?

What are you known for?
I've not seen any of your offerings and I'm sorry to say I've never heard of you.

I really hope you don't take it as hard as I did when you informed me that I'm Persona non Grata.

I'll get over it with time and maybe some counseling.

This was originally supposed to be a thread about Ron's Enterprise - it's a shame it ended being spoilt by a bunch of playground bullies who should know better.

I'm taking my leave because it's apparent nothing decent will come out of this thread - hopefully a mod will kill it.

*****! I leave for the day to conduct real life and BANG!:eek

Anson, why won't Ron answer questions? Why is it so hard to humble ones self to answer questions? And why are you his self appointed press agent:sick

Ron, you can step in and speak up. And try to answer the questions. This vague and ambiguous response feature you have built into your posts kinda sucks. You like to tell stories of how the ships are floating in space waiting to be built and throb with life. Why not throb with answers to your claims?

People are asking the questions. Now's your chance to speak up and site all your facts. But remember, for every so called fact you may have there could be a rebuttle of real fact involved.

I posted a few pics I've gleamed from around the net. Maybe these will get Ron out to really answer a few questions. Or at least get a solid critique. Since Ron only posted very poor quality pics on the RPF.

Hello Mark,

I'm sorry you feel I'm acting as Ron's press agent - I just don't like to see anyone picked on like Ron has been these past couple of days.
It happened to me on the prop forum when I first displayed my TIE pilot helmet so it rattles me when I see another member being berated for nothing.

I'm all for constructive criticism but some of the remarks aimed at Ron seem just plain hurtful - this is my perception of the thread anyway.

I know that Ron's use of the word 'ultimate' angered some of you guys but I still don't think that it warranted Ron being called a fool, scammer, etc.

If that had been your Enterprise model and folks started calling you names I'd defend you too by the way.

I don't know you and to be quite honest I don't really know Ron either -
I don't like to see anyone being chastised so badly purely because they've used a particular word to describe their work.
It may not be Jim Keys (amazing) Enterprise but it's just as valid.

Cheers -

Anson

Oh my GOD Hand! You are too funny!!!!!!

Anson, thank you for the response. I too am sorry for coming off so heavy but his evasive answers and just plain dodging the questions with more questions was getting on my nerves. And others it would seem.

Ron, seeing those pictures that atemylunch posted I would advise you to halt your castings and do some finish sanding to smooth out the surface. You've come this far why not go a little farther in making it cleaner. Work your way up from say 150ish to 320ish grit sandpaper. Use layers of primer to help seal off sanded layers of your material and then use automotive putties to fill in the little spots. I would pull the grills off the secondary hull and make them separate. Try making a window layout template and use it to draw on the windows for cutting. This will allow you better control of the sizes and alignment. If you don't have an armature you really need one. Those engines will tear the secondary hull apart at the seams!

Now, Ron, do me a favor, like it or not, talk to us. We would like to help you fix your model but you need to stop playing cloak and dagger games.
We can be your friends. Just listen to us and we will help you. Just watch what you say. Words can have two meanings. The artist intentions and the true meaning of the words. Several of us took the true meaning of the words and judged you by them.

Now with that said, you can PM me any time. But I am limited by an NDA so I have to get permission to give you any of the guarded info so it may not be allowed. But I can help you with fixing the quality issues.

Peace!

Mark

As a person who does quality assurance / quality control for a living, I know that I prefer quality over low price. I have seen pics of both the custom replicas model and this one. I had inquired about the custom replicas model and at this time for me, it is a little cost prohibitive for me to purchase. I have even toyed around with the idea of scratch building my own and received much building advice from the likes of REL and others on techniques for doing so.
It's always good to take the humble seat when doing something like this because I have learned that there are always those among us here who have had some unique opportunities to see or handle the actual filming models or have access to drawings, photos or research that I have not had.
If I were to jump out there and attempt it, I would get all of the support and advice of those around me so that I could produce the best quality product that my poor talents as a modeler could muster.

Holy crud, what a bunch of schoolgirls.

Ron's proud of his accomplishment, and okay, maybe sees the model though the rose-colored glasses of a proud papa.

So what? This is his showoff thread and he can use whatever adjective he wants to describe it. He needs permission from none of you to call it "Ultimate" or anything else. Nor does he owe anyone explanations about his detailing choices.

You think your work is better? Great! Start your own showoff thread. Call it the "Real Ultimate" if that floats your boat. But pissing in someone else's thread is extremely bad form.

timeslip, no matter how long you might've been around, your account is new and therefore subject to the same probationary period all new accounts are. Make another hateful, insulting trolling post like those you've made in this thread, and your account will be deactivated. (If you've been around for so long, what was your old account name?)

Grow the hell up, people.

Closing this. Ron, if you want to make a new thread about your bird, go ahead.
