UK MR Trooper helmet- Opinions?

Gone but not forgotten.
Just looking for opinions- Is this recent UK helmet changing the face of the collectors/ costumers market? Ie: is it worth it to put out a new, accurate Trooper helmet kit in the 150.00 price range right now, or would the mold just gather dust?

Thoughts?

Well the UK edition is £50 plus shipping to the US so say about $125 Plus ther's a lot of mods and stuff to be done to make it accurate.
Compared to your kits that are spot on straight out of the moulds just needing paint. I'd say go for it I live in the UK and I'd be more inclined to go for one of your kits over a MR any day!

Are we talking rotocast here ? only there's always cheap fibreglass copies on ebay all the time, and when you say accurate how accurate do you mean ?

Well, they'd be "Bill-o-Cast", but that's almost as good as rotocast. :D

Accuracy? Pretty much off-the-set accurate- literally. Decals may be another story, I'll need you guy's help there. I may need to "de-accurize" it slightly so it won't compete too bad w/ the donor's helmets. We're still very early in talks, so we'll see how that turns out over the next month or so. I don't know yet, if he wants to remain anonymous, I'll ask tomorrow.

I would guess that the helmet market is dropping :redface
The MRUK is a NICE helmet for that money, better than any licensed helmet IMO. It's an idealization of the ANH look that's not been accomplished in such a clean fashion, not to mention that it looks quite a bit more durable than an ABS helmet.
I'd get on the cheap bandwagon, pronto.

I have the MR CE and it rocks. Picked mine off..I mean UP..on Ebay for $86. WAY more durable thenany other ABS helmet out there. Very symetrical but in a good way. with a little work this can be made in to a VERY nice helmet.

The UK helmet is very nice, but has a lot of inaccuracies. I personally like that it's idealized and symmetrical, but the ears are totally wrong and there are a couple other problem spots. I haven't bought one yet specifically because I'm looking forward to seeing what you have to offer first! What if you cleaned it up a bit, idealized it a bit - that way you don't compete with the donor helmet but you're still selling something that addresses the issues with the US helmet? I'll never understand why people want to keep that bump on the eye anyway! :lol

I hope you decide to make a go at this one!
